Added on January 16, 2011, 2:32 amdifference between LED and HD?  which 1 is more tiring to eyes? hate those ultra sharp bright screen which hurts my eyes and gives me headache after looking at it for hours....

Acer is using LCD while the Asus is using LED.
Both are HD screens(1366X768 pixels)
LED will be more bright compare to LCD.

Screen quality can be different though....
*
About the screen, forgotten that I wrote the specs myself.
LOL, screen quality different may be due to manufacturer of the screen imo.
Eg, samsung, sony, etc...

Definitely, that depends from where the manufacturer source the screen panel...
*
Yeah, but most likely the quality can't be much difference and even it is, sometimes our naked eyes couldn't differentiate it.
Anyway, we can wait for the Asus and compare the screen by then. smile.gif

if budget is not your concern here, i think better choose asus.

you get better gaming performance, and no offense to acer, maybe better build quality as N series is a premium line from asus. nod.gif
*
Yeap, well said, if I have the budget I would really want to lay my hands on the N series though.

Anyway, I'm also satisfied with mine now.

You should try to read up some about screen display. sweat.gif
Brand, model, type(ips),brightness, glossy, resolution, black(contrast),refresh rate and lots more does make lots different(viewing angle, brightness, black level, outdoor visibility(sunlight reflection and so on...) which your eyes will surely know... whistling.gif
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Devilt....0.html#display
*
Brand u won't know. model is just the name of it,type(ips) okay this is important since the viewing angle is sometimes essential when many are watching movies but however u won't know what the lcd of the laptop is since it never wrote out, brightness not important since normal people put at normal average, glossy or not didnt wrote also, resolution same for both the laptops referred, black(contrast) also never write out, refresh rate i guess this is Hz which comes at a price and dun think laptop LCD comes with high end ones like 100Hz and lots more does make lots different(viewing angle which is mentioned already(type, ips), brightness(mentioned already also),black level(contrast level that u said),outdoor visibility(sunlight reflection and so on...) which is mentioned by u also the glossy screen.
Yeah it all made difference but the part that eyes can see is mostly the resolution, colours and viewing angle only. Others are really hard to see with our naked eyes such as refresh rates(if not big difference)

So? notebookcheck.net is there to help us brows.gif I dont like to be guinea pig. sweat.gif It is better safe than sorry. wink.gif
Glossy or matte normally does write out.
Refresh rate are normally only mentioned in mid-high end laptop where they want to touch about ''3D''.
*
Yeah, there are websites to help us. But don't think it's really helpful only if u are very fussy about the screen if u're doing stuffs like editing video/photo etc.
Refresh rates normally refer to GPU if not mistaken.
