QUOTE(siewky @ Feb 16 2011, 02:46 PM) OIC, I not really count it but it seem more then 5X TP from that summary. Questions... 1) Can I use the TP earned from Amex to redeem the GST for Visa? It is faster to earn 10K TP from Amex which gives 5X TP. 2) Let's say I hold Maybank 2 - Gold and Platinum i.e. 4 cards. Can I earn to the max of RM100/month (2 Amex X RM50 rebates)? If it is possible, that will be wonderful to complement OCBC Titanium rebates. In a month, you can get the max of RM150 rebates in total if you fully utilized them.

QUOTE(ronnie @ Feb 16 2011, 03:11 PM) 1. Yes. TP can be used to offset the GST for any Maybank CC. 2. You cannot hold the Maybankard2 Gold and Platinium at the same time It's possible to hold both but in a different way. This is the trick... Get your wife/gf/mother (if their income qualified) to hold one and you hold the other one. Instead of getting a supplementary for them, get them to apply one. Then, start charging to both cards. Of course, at the end of the month, you have to pay for their card bills.

What are the available billing cycle for OCBC Titanium beside 12th of every month? It's real fast OCBC billed me the GST before I could warm up to the card.

QUOTE(Doggystyle @ Feb 17 2011, 05:58 PM) Hey guys, Recently I just got upgraded to Citi Titanium cashback, and I've been reading up a bit on cash back cards (never bothered at all till now, could have saved a bit if I knew). So, OCBC titanium totally beat the crap out of all competition? 5% petrol, groc, phone bills 1% everything else Compared to Citi titanium: 5% petrol 2% groc, phone bills 0.3 everything else Anything else I should know about? Thanks. It's Citi Platinum Cashback. OCBC Titanium is better. OCBC Titanium 5% rebate is subjected to merchant codes. In other words, not all transactions are qualified for 5% rebate. Read the FAQ and T&C on their website.

QUOTE So, if Tesco fall under groceries, and I grab a hdtv for rm2000, I can max out the 5% (Rm100) rebate straight up? That sweet? It's capped to RM50 per month. To get RM100 rebate, charge 1K to Maybankcard 2 Amex and another 1K to OCBC Titanium on the weekend when you buy HDTV in Tesco. But, I am not sure if Tesco will allow you to charge it on separate cards. This post has been edited by milentechie: Feb 17 2011, 06:49 PM

QUOTE(ruztynail @ Feb 18 2011, 02:39 AM) hmmm wondering... i jus got my ocbc statement.. statement date is 12th of feb. but i received and activated my card on the 26th jan.. isnt it supposed to be a month in between. it bugs me cause i am planning my spending cap on this card carefully to waive the 50 bucks gst. which in this instance didnt give me the appropriate time to spend 1k. can i change the statement date? tried calling but CS said only tmr shift can help me with it.. oh.. pav parkson only has 1% rebate. not 5% I also have the same statement date as you. I activated my card last Saturday. Yesterday, I was surprised to receive a letter from OCBC asking me to confirm if I have charged my first transaction on the card. Good security. I called CS and requested to change the date. But, CS asked me to settle this month balance first i.e. RM50 (GST) and then called them back to request. QUOTE(mustang @ Feb 18 2011, 08:36 AM) I applied on Feb 2nd and have the card delivered to me on Feb 14th. Quite fast though considering lots of holidays in between. Some questions; 01. Any ways to know which MCC code a particular merchant belongs to instead of knowing it at the end month statement in the bill. 02. I get to know OCBC paymaster facility will give additional cashback if we subscribe certain bill payments but what about direct auto debit from the merchant itself? [eg: I enrolled in Maxis auto debit] thx This restriction is applicable to swiping the card at the terminal itself? [not online transaction] Then, what for having the 3D Secure code if merchant is not trusting credit cards issued in M'sia?

QUOTE(winner @ Feb 18 2011, 03:06 PM) The auto debit service was subscribed through TM. 5% cash back is confirmed. This is what is shown on my statement: "TELEKOM M'SIA Y1 KUALA LUMPUR" Any difference if you sign up the autopay with OCBC as compared to with the service provider directly? Which party to notify if we want to cancel the autopay facility?

Based on your personal experience, does any bank waive the annual fee if you didn't swipe a single transaction or maybe swiped less than 5 transactions with the cr card?

Petronas1 litre = 1 Mesra point Points will expire after 3 years. However, your points will be void if there has been no activity made within 6 months (transaction, and or redemption). AMEX is not accepted No treatpoints unless co-brand card Esso/MobilRM1 = 1 Smiles point No expiry dates if you make at least one qualifying purchase at any participating Esso or Mobil service station within 12 months with the same Smiles Card. 5% cash back with AMEX on weekend 5X treatpoints FYI, all petrol came from the same source in Malaysia. The difference is the additives that the petrol company added. Car fuel consumption is subjected to many factors. Tell me which one give better deal? QUOTE(Xai-V-iaX @ Feb 22 2011, 09:58 AM) Just to clear the air up since I just applied of for both the OCBC Titanium & M2 AMEX/VISA. OCBC Ti - Free annual fee waiver if swipe 12x & Spend RM10k to get GST waived M2 AMEX/VISA - Free for Life & 10,000TP to offset GST. Right? Absolutely right. To earn TP faster, try to charge all your transactions to M2 AMEX. 5x TP.

QUOTE(ronnie @ Feb 24 2011, 01:20 PM) Managed to get my SCB Business Visa Platinum approved Requested on : 21 Feb 2010 Approved on : 23 Feb 2010 I submitted a letter to ask for upgrade from SCB Visa Platinum but they gave additional card. Need to call up to cancel the old card once I receive the new Business Visa Platinum. As usual, charged RM50 for GST BUT the CS says I'm entitled to the RM188 cash back upon first swipe. Is this SCB Business Visa Platinum open to businessman only? Does the reward point come with expiry date? I don't think you are entitled for the RM188 cash back. This is only applicable to non-existing SCB customers. Better you confirm again.

QUOTE(ronnie @ Feb 24 2011, 02:06 PM) Anybody can apply for Business Visa Platinum... not necessary business man..i'm just an employee. SCB ChoicePoints have no expiry dates and like that it can be converted to cash. RM25 = 5000 ChoicePoints I don't expect to get the RM188 Cash-back.... definitely update this thread if I do get the RM188 free money again Are you sure no expiry date? My SCB Platinum statement shows the points have 3 years validity. Hmm.. maybe I want to try to upgrade too but they just charged GST into my Platinum.

QUOTE(ronnie @ Feb 25 2011, 07:47 AM) Those who yet to get FREE Cash, do it now... Make sure you apply 2 cards for double the cash reward ;-) IMHO, SCB Business Visa Gold/Platinum is better CC card... If you don't mind, can you list down the difference of benefits between SCB Business Platinum and normal Platinum. I am currently holding the normal Platinum. Contemplating to upgrade to Business if the benefits are better. Thanks.

QUOTE(hye @ Feb 25 2011, 08:40 AM) You can read this information off SCB's website and make your own comparison. That's the public information and there's no other special hidden information that the guys here knows that is not known to everyone else in Malaysia. I'm trying to avoid saying "Please don't be lazy". You are asking someone else to fulfill your needs in a polite manner. Haha.. I think I better rephrase my question properly. What aspect of the SCB Business Platinum benefits that most attracted you when you signed it up? Nothing special except for the 0.5% cash back. The benefits are almost the same as normal Platinum.
