Just wanna know, can a maybank debit card be used like a credit card globally when I go travelling?

Any Debit card link here not?
*
Link provided by erry- above. Remember to go to MBB ATM to enable Visa Plus ATM facility and set Visa Debit transaction limit to higher than RM0, which is the default.

Is the transaction considered valid if one did not sign on the credit card transaction receipt?
*
Yes. Signature on the merchant slip is not important at the point of transaction. Credit card works on a user dispute system. After card authorisation, bank will pay the merchant and that's the end of the story unless the customer disputes the transaction. If this happens, the bank will check and a correctly signed merchant slip will be considered proof that a non-fraudulent transaction did occur.

The bank will be very suspicious if the customer disputes a lot of transactions and all of the merchant slips are not signed or incorrectly signed. whistling.gif

For the forumer who might want to dispute a purchase since the signed merchant slip was given incorrectly, you might want to check whether the shop had any cctv's near the cashier before actually calling the bank. biggrin.gif

Just my 2 cents. I am no bank officer but I think there is such a possibility (of RM10,000 credited to Card A) where simultaneous applications for BT are made to both Card B Bank and Card C Bank (even though the only good enough reason I perceive for doing that is that one intends to do another BT in the very near future). Hmmph, let us forummers not be judgmental and think this as a purely hypothetical question  :hmm:

If and only if both Card B Bank and Card C Bank approve the BT amount (say RM5,000 each as per timetravelller's example) at the same time, why not? Please feel free to correct  the above if need be.

Not sure if this would be considered unfavourable credit card account conduct - which puts you at risk of application rejection.

While your answer is the correct one, I suspect erry answered his way because he didn't want to affirm the idea of giving more rope for someone to potentially hang himself.

I mean use Maybankard2 CC to pay for TM/TNB/... bills. Not paying CC bills ?
*
Only payee corporations which MBB allows for credit card payment will the option show up (list is quite short). Of this list, only MBB Visa/Master can be used. Amex is not supported for bill payments for M2U.

But my Maybankard2 Visa also not shown...

Your MBB2 cards are already linked to your M2U account, right? Try selecting TNB as your payee corporation. If not there, call CS and ask.

I got my OCBC TI MC and tried to use to buy GSC ticket online but not successfully. Is that we need to call to CS to activate online transaction?

Sounds like you didn't sign up for 3DS?

But GSC website didn't specify that it needs 3D security for OCBC.

I've booked tickets several times using my OCBC Ti before but I've already signed up for 3DS. I'm quite sure OCBC doesn't do online transaction activation since I've done quite a few before having 3DS. Wouldn't be surprised OCBC isn't listed, their cards weren't popular until quite recently. smile.gif

Last month posted here how people can extract info from our Visa Wave and MAsterCard Paypass credit cards. Just need a laptop and a receiver just like in the shop. Come to think of it, that would also mean that the merchant will have our personal info when we use the Wave and Paypass feature (?) Any merchant can confirm what info can be seen in their computer?.

Anyway got another email on on card cloning, Click here to my blog to see how credit cards are cloned.

In the video you posted earlier, it seems the guy got hold of an actual Wave/Paypass reader? So it doesn't feel weird for it to be able to read the RFID chip on CC's. Plus he is peddling a cover to fix the issue, so his motives might not be fully altruistic. smile.gif

Your latest video is just a variation of traditional magnetic stripe skimming.

huh? this is a credit card not debit card....

Doesn't matter. All pump swipes are subject to a certain amount being held (exact amount depends on bank and petrol stations). This is to ensure the card has enough limit. Once transaction is complete, the amount held is released and actual amount pumped is then charged.

You swipe at pump or counter? The situation I mentioned is only applicable for pump swipes.

I dunno why banks always asked us to give only the IC and a copy of our Credit Card during the application only to ask us give more documents after like one month.. waste of time only..

I've applied for UOD card from a branch.. I brought all documents there the officer told me no need..just want my IC and credit card..
2 weeks later someone called asking for my salary slip then two weeks laters received a letter asking for utilities bill.. Now 6 weeks passed I called to check, the CS said my application had been cancel..really WTF

This situation is not actually abnormal, but more likely to happen if the bank thinks your income levels might not meet their requirements or you do not fit their risk comfort level.
