is online transaction is not consider retail transaction?
then if buy online cannot convert it to installment? hmm.gif
*
depends on the bank.

like HSBC, to convert to installment, need approval code at the slip.
if u purchase online usually dont have approval code (such as at airasia / gsc / tgv website).
so u cannot apply for flexi payment.

but CIMB no need approval code. just need amount and company name.
i did convert smart-flexi pay for takaful pay-by-phone (10 months free for insurance) thumbup.gif

The cashier also told that the system will not auto split the payment into multiples of RM30. Instead, the customers must pump RM30 separately then only entitled the entry.
Well, I might be misinformed too. Anyway, I don't want to risk losing the winning chance LOL.
*
OT, refer to http://www.esso-mobil-smiles.com.my/en-my/promotions.aspx

Every cumulative RM30.00 spent in single or multiple receipts entitles the Contestants to one (1) entry.
For example, a transaction of RM70.00 will entitle the Contestants to two (2) entries.

My DA MC still has FlexiPay which will finish within 4 months. In this 4 month's time, if CIMB MC does not come out with attractive features, then byebye.
Oh ya, TreatsPoints is evergreen; CIMB pts expires in 3 years. mad.gif

If I have MBB Amex Credit Card (without MBB logo) and it still has many months of 0% installment for Maxis iPhone4, ff apply Maybank 2 CC, can it transfer to the new Amex CC ?
Or must settle everything ?
Or consider as balance transfer ?
hmm.gif
*
told already before. seems imposibble to transfer amex MR card to amex TP card.
need to settle everything. but, maybe got penalty fee for early termination of current installment.
no idea if can BT amex MR (non mbb logo) to amex TP (mbb logo).

I'm not worry on the transfer MR/TP. I can spend all that.

I'm more curious on the installment plan, how to deal with it. I can settle full, but just wondering if can transfer the installments or not, and as you mention, if there are any penalty.
hmm.gif
*
i also didnt mean about the points.

what i mean is the type of card.
amex mbb TP (such as pantai) should have no prob to upgrade/transfer to new maybankard 2.
since both amex with mbb logo and use TP.

Hope they will add this benefit into the Maybankard 2 Amex like their other Amex cards.
*
sorry but i dont think maybankard 2 amex plat will have access to airport lounge sad.gif

its very rare a credit card will offer this benefits later after people applied. if offer other discount yes.
coz bank should highlight this when offering, such as new cimb vs (even just 2x/year).

i dont know where to post this... perhaps this is the right channel...

last two week i received a Maybank credit card (sorry couldn't recall exactly which card it is)... i didnt apply any credit card before... so i was thinking to return back to maybank as i dont need it.

but apparently due to busy with working, i dont have a chance to visit Maybank and recently i received several calls from unknown phone no...

he said he is calling from maybank and would like to offer some discount whatsoever... he ask me the expiry date of the card but im not keep it in my wallet so i didnt give him any info... so just now he call me again, so i ignore him as i suspect something is not right... he called me few times but using his own handphone no... weird... during office hour why not calling using office phone as he claim he is from Maybank...

so anyone encountered this before? is there anyway for me to check it is correct or not as he seems like now a bit of my details... worried it is just a scam...

thanks.
*
1. if u received a credit card from bank without applying, but dont need it, better cancel immediately to avoid gst being charged.

if cant go to branch, just call (tell them u dont want the card / never applied).

2. DONT GIVE any credit card info if u 'receiving' a call!

if u the 1 who 'make' the call (example to insurance company - u dial the number) then no prob.
but just give front info (usually only this what they ask, in-case u want to renew insurance by phone).

if bank really call u, mostly bcoz want to verify transaction, and they dont even ask for ur card number, let alone expiry date ~

btw, yes u ask at the right channel here smile.gif

I have gone through the T&C b4 I posted but I found none stating online payment being categorised as retail or otherwise, maybe perhaps I have conveniently overlooked it as being accepted for bill payments in the first place which I apologise. Hope everyone gets up on the right side of the bed tomorrow.  tongue.gif

not for hsbc. any transaction without using merchant terminal is not considered as retail.
but, this is only applicable if u want to apply for their flexi payment.
coz the sms need 6 digit approval code (online transaction wont have it~).

QUOTE(H4RRY @ Jan 23 2011, 05:45 PM)
I went through some pages of the discussion regarding Maybankard 2.
A few questions:

I read that someone say he pays KFC RM4.50 using his CC, don't retailers usually has a minimum amount for payment through CC? Usually RM50, I think.
I was wondering how often I can use a CC. Let's say buy groceries below RM50. Is the general rule, above RM50 can swipe?
*
1st, its NOT general rule!

btw, the 1 who swipe kfc for rm4.50 is definately me! brows.gif
oh i also swipe rm4.60 for nasi ayam esso laugh.gif

2nd, u need to ask the shop if they accept payment by credit card for ur amount.
in my case, kfc bil rm4.50 (after tax) then i ask the cashier "boleh bayar rm4.50 ni dgn kad?" and she reply "yes".
so just proceed thumbup.gif

some shop yes, they will tell u they accept credit card for (example) rm30 and above.
some shop did put the notice at the cashier regaring min payment for credit card (example at genting bowling).

but at kfc sungai chua and esso/mobil around kajang/bangi no need min amount to use credit card biggrin.gif

Added on January 23, 2011, 6:29 pmfor groceries, big hypermarket dont have min amount to use credit card rclxms.gif

coz i always swipe <rm10 at giant / jusco / tesco / carrefour. no problem icon_rolleyes.gif

I also read some review on OCBC MC Titanium, you should use at least RM1000 per month to get the most from it. Otherwise, just get Maybankard 2. But the VISA is not as good and some retailers might not accept AMEX. So, I should get both Maybankard 2 and OCBC MC Plat? Use AMEX when possible and OCBC when AMEX not accepted? Maybank also has the lowest overseas conversion rate as I will be travelling every year.
*
its no harm if u get both maybankard 2 and ocbc ti.
both dont have annual fee and the gst for both is only rm100.

u do ur calculation.
usually u can cover the gst with the cashback.
if u can get back from ocbc rm50/month, its already rm600/year.
u still earn rm500/year without using ur maybankard 2 at all! brows.gif

Hi, I have one question regarding the SCB's CC promotion scheme.
SCB's offer gurantee gift promotion with a mimuium spending of RM4000.00. On-going installment payment is excluded. How about new instalment scheme. Let say a transaction cost RM 3600.00 and divide into 12 instalments with each instalment RM 300.00 per month.
How to calculate the amount to be included into the min spending of RM4000.00? Is it RM3600.00 or RM300.00. Could someone confirm for this. Thanks.
*
1st, rm3600 didnt meet the "Spending Criteria" sweat.gif

2nd, i'm asnwering this based on hsbc/DA coz i dont have scb card.

ok let say u make installment amount of rm5400, monthly is rm450. the amount that will be go into the contest is rm5400.

worth it?

dunno worth or not. but that is standard.

almost all credit card can redeem 40k into rm200 voucher (either rm50x4 or rm100x2).

depends on the bank, the min amount, also need approval code or not.

i already post before. if u meet the min amount, then want to convert online transaction into installment:
cimb no need approval code, so u can.
but hsbc need approval code, so u cant.

other bank, no idea.

depends on the cashier. some cashier did check the card, if no signature he/she will ask u to sign it immediately there.
previously i also forget to sign replacement card, swipe at cashier many time and the cashier didnt check, till 1 day, got checked, so just sign.
