It GENERALLY depends on 2 factors, your current salary OR current CL. Bear in mind that SCB Preferred WMC does not guarantee a high CL.

Before getting SCB Preferred WMC, I have already possessed SCB JustOne Titanium MC. After obtaining SCB Preferred WMC, my CL was not increased and both my SCB cards share the CL.


I have also received the additional 3% rebate for online bill payment. And, it looks like OCBC gave me more than 3% rebate!


Since you have already received the card, why don't you try it first and keep us informed?

Gen-X, I suffer the same fate as you. I applied for Maybankard 2 Amex Platinum and Visa Platinum through telephone last Friday morning, WITHOUT submitting any documents. When I checked with MBB CS just now, my application has just been approved. To my surprise, they give me Gold cards instead!

I guess it could be due to my current record with MBB, as currently the only cc product from MBB that I own is Amex Gold cc. However, during my application through telephone, I have highlighted I only wanted Platinum cards. And just now, the CS officer told me that they could not change the cards to Platinum now. It looks like I have to ask them to cancel my application immediately. What the hell!

My so called Gold Card application have been taken off from MBB system but the Plat card request yet to be updated. Like you I have Amex Gold CC but I also have Petronas Plat Visa and MBB Plat MasterCard with them and the combined CL is pretty high (as far as I am concerned). Maybe my request for Maybankard 2 Cards Plat may not even be approved Anyway not urgent need of the card since new year coming and shopiing all done.

The current CL of my Amex Gold cc is considered quite high too. Anyway, let's see what will happen as I mentioned to them clearly I only wanted Platinum and would cancel the application otherwise.

My MBB 2 Cards Amex is in Black Metallic like HSBC Platinum.
The MBB 2 Cards VISA is in dark Blue Metallic like HSBC Premier.

For Maybankand Amex & maxis postpaid users, u can use ur amex card to pay your maxis bills at their machines in KLCC Maxis centre on weekends for the 5% rebate ^.^

The 3% Rebate for OCBC Titanium for Internet Banking's actual value is 5%, based on my calculation on all OCBC Internet Banking transactions. Basically that's the 3%+2% special offer period. I get 5% even I didn't get the special email invite.

btw, you can also enroll for auto pay on the phone too

Maybankard2 AMEX will be added to the list of AMEX cards entitled to the 15% Cash-back ending 28 Feb 2011. Let's wait and see.

Confirmed can get 5% Cash-back with Astro Auto-Billing and OCBC Titanium

I can confirm that as well. You can pay with your OCBC for wife's Astro account.

If there is no transaction after your RM50 GST is charged to your card (means visible in your transaction history already), you can op to not pay the GST when you ask for a cancellation of that card.

I've done that twice with MBB.
