donno... malas nak test... the txt do have intensity value but not sure will it affect the brightness or not when the sensor been disable... or if sensor enable will the modded value will stay unchange or not... we're talking multiple re-edit and re-compile and re-test which for me... NOP... wont do it...

.txt > .cre > .pkg + .sis > sign > install > reboot > test

notepad > S^3 SDK > notepad + S^3 SDK > freesigner > n8

S^3 SDK will need to download ~1gb from the net...

it's quite easy actually... but to find the reference of those .txt cenrep editing are painful...

that's why i don wanna do try and error on that light sensor mod as my heart tell me those intensity setting wont stay there if we enable the sensor... and if we disable the sensor it wont be use at all those value setting... so no point... but i never try lah as it at least need multiple time to editing, compiling, testing... and the effect are not obvious at all... if wanna safe batt direct choose power saver lah... if want brightness disable sensor lah why choose middle middle...

1. go search and download "Symbian 3 SDK Installation" then install
2. download navifirm get the N8 firmware
3. download nokiaeditor to extract the ROFS
4. copy all \private\10202BE9 .txt files (original un-modded files)
5. edit 10200C8C.txt accordingly <-- the hardest part
6. now copy the edited 10200C8C.txt to Nokia_Symbian3_SDK_v0.9\epoc32\winscw\c\
7. go into cmd mode and run "centrepconv -o 10200C8C.cre 10200C8C.txt"
8. copy the newly created 10200C8C.cre in Nokia_Symbian3_SDK_v0.9\epoc32\winscw\c\
9. edit a new .pkg file using notepad
10. copy all .cre and .pkg into Nokia_Symbian3_SDK_v0.9\epoc32\tools
11. go into cmd mode and run "makesis ***.pkg"
12. copy the created .sis and copy into the n8
13. sign the .sis
14. install the mods
15. reboot, then test...

Added on January 20, 2011, 3:44 amif u know that last EQ preset mods lagi killing... have to do decoding and matching somemore b4 even able to re-edit... as all the EQ setting are store in RAW HEX code... (actually i'm feel proud as able to decode it)

There're 4 apps installed during the Big Screen apps installation, nokia big screen beta, nokia big screen beta install helper, nokia big screen beta respository files, nokia smart installer, uninstall ALL 4 and reboot, then install the mods and reboot again... then install back the Big Screen apps and reboot again... now u should have all intact... (:
