Very details comparison  thumbup.gif
But do Damasko has ready stocks if buying direct?
*
Nope, you have to wait...
You order 1st, then wait...
Once your order is ready, they will contact you on the payment.
You wire them payment then they send you the watch.
One more thing about ordering frm Damasko Direct is that certain models can be asked to do custom engraving on the back.
That is damn cool if you ask me...

Damasko Direct.
Basic Damasko DA37/37 selling for EUR799 - 19% VAT = EUR647.19 + EUR120 for shipping = EUR767.19 x 4.27 = RM3275.90 (rm201.10 difference)
*
I think you calculate it wrongly. i.e.
Basic Damasko DA37/37 selling for EUR799 / 1.19 VAT = EUR671.43 + EUR120 for shipping =
EUR791.43 x 4.27 = RM3379.41

Yeah, Eur60 for Engraving...

Is that how the less VAT is calculated?
I calculate as 799 minus 19%.... that's what I punch in the calculator.
Coz Nadja did not specify.
Her reply was, just deduct 19% for taxes.
So should it be 799 divide by 1.19 or 799 minus 19%?

19% for tax? I don't think that is right. VAT refund is usually at 16%.
120 for shipping that is high.
today germany only ships thru DHL overseas, they do not have local post office doing that.
UHR only cost ~eur$30 to ship out of EU. The handling fees is way to high. if diff is ~300 rm might as well get it locally.

Know what?
I learned something new.
ck77 you're right.
I compared the calculations with the Sinn I bought earlier.
List price was eur1270, rebate eur200 = eur1070... at first I thought... less than 19% but what the heck...
Then I used you're calculation style 1270 divide by 1.19 and voila!! 1067.22
So I wasn't being shortchanged at all...
Something new everyday...

So the comparisons should be like this.

Gnomon Watches.

Basic Damasko DA36/37
selling for USD1100 + USD40 for shipping = USD1140 x 3.05 = RM3477.00
Damasko Chrono DC66/67
selling for USD2190 + USD40 for shipping = USD 2230 x 3.05 = RM6801.50

Damasko Direct.

Basic Damasko DA37/37
selling for EUR799 / 1.19 VAT = EUR671.43 + EUR120 for shipping = EUR791.43 x 4.27 = RM3379.40 (rm97.60 difference!!!)
Damasko Chrono DC66/67
selling for EUR1699 / 1.19 VAT = EUR1427.73 + EUR120 for shipping = EUR1547.73 x 4.27 = RM6608.81 (rm192.69 difference!!!)
And the only payment option is wire transfer which means extra fees as well.

Still waiting on WWII reply e-mail on pricing but by the looks of it, unless you're buying the highest end Damasko watches, better still just go with Gnomon...
If WWII pricing is competitive which I feel it will be because Malaysia is duty free for watches... then WWII is the way to go coz you get to molest the watch and try it on before buying...
I will update once WWII updates me on the prices... hope the above helps for ppl looking for Damasko watches.

@patryn, yes 19% based on my previous experience (Laco and a strap from Germany) And my strap is shipped by registered airmail.
@hanz, glad can help. I would say go for Gnomon coz of ready stock. Unless you want special engraving :-)

Woah... big mistake...
Just got another e-mail frm Nadja@damasko

These are the prices without tax.

The price for a DA37 is 799,00 Euro.
I have one in stock at the moment.

The price for a DA 47 is 1.099,00 Euro.
The delivery time is one week.

The price for a DC 67 is 1.699,00 Euro.
I have one in stock at the moment.

In short, if you visit Damasko's Official Website... the price you see is the price you pay.

The chart is like this now.

Gnomon Watches.

Basic Damasko DA36/37
selling for USD1100 + USD40 for shipping = USD1140 x 3.05 = RM3477.00
Damasko Chrono DC66/67
selling for USD2190 + USD40 for shipping = USD 2230 x 3.05 = RM6801.50

Damasko Direct.

Basic Damasko DA37/37
selling for EUR799 + EUR120 for shipping = EUR919 x 4.27 = RM3924.13 (costs rm447.13 more!!!) doh.gif
Damasko Chrono DC66/67
selling for EUR1699 + EUR120 for shipping = EUR1819 x 4.27 = RM7767.13 (costs rm965.63 more!!!) doh.gif
And the only payment option is wire transfer which means extra fees as well.

You just create an account with Laco with your necessary details and the next time you log in, prices shown will be those without tax...
