Thanks CK!
I like CW's but the ones that I like are all jsut above rm1k.
I like clean face with a see through case.
Which brand is similar to CW but cheaper?

Is CW as reliable and historically rich as Seiko's?
*
any European brand that is historically rich as Seiko would command a Premium.
young brands

Anyone sifu here has them?

And how about Kenneth Cole?
Or are they not really a famous watch maker?
*
all using chinese movement, maybe from hangzhou, liaoning or maybe seagull for those more expensive ones.

I would get a seagull

many ppl think swiss quartz are build equal. No one really care who make swiss quartz.
Ronda seem to be popular and apparently there are ETA and ISA. Are they all build equal? anyone have insights into these?

ETAs are jeweled(functionally), don't drop coils too often(not
counting the ham fisted shop staff) and just generally a very well
built movement. Well.. within reason and size dependent (see below).
The Ronda/Harley stuff look and are cheap, generally 2 jewels, but
still not too bad. They do drop coils with more regularity, but tend
to not rust as badly as the ETAs when they get wet, as their hand set
parts are more exposed, not enclosed into a crevice like the ETA's.

All in all, i'd say the ETA 955, 555, 255(maybe) etc.. modules will
outlast the average Ronda. However, anything below 8 lignes, do not
even bother with ETA. Get the Ronda or better yet, the Miyotas.

Oh... Happy Lunar New Year!

It is a Seiko movement indeed, re-build groud up by Tag.
Nice watch nontheless, with ok price as well.
If you like it, get it.
*
Tag did some changes here and there 2.
major changes are the vertical Clutch and column wheel

build from ground up well, some stuff still buy outside, shock absorber, hair spring.

Any Frederique Constant owners around? Saw a model going for 2.7k after 30% discount, I believe it's a Persuasion Moonphase model. Good price?
Looks similar to the one in the link below but I'm not entirely sure as the price quoted seems low.

Thanks Pat,

I was wondering, there seems to be quite a number of brands sporting poljot movements.
Moscow Classic, Buran, Aviator and etc... Is there any pros and cons?
Any definitive models I should be looking at? Distinctively Russian so to speak?
Poljot branded ones are hard to find...

sorry but no. if they do prices are generally higher and they may have agreement with brand not to ship watches to the country.

nonetheless they have good return policy

10. Is the warranty really valid for 5 years?

Wow thanks again for sharing. Between this and Tissot Visodante, which one will be a better buy?
*
the chrono uhr vs tissot Visodante.
of course a UHR Chrono!
UHR chrono is on ETA 7750 and Tissot is on ETA 2836

if u don't get in bulk
ETA 2836 movement cost ~US$140, its a family of 2824
ETA 7750 cost ~us$400

Tissot most likely using Elabore grade, 7750 no Standard grade so UHR must be using Elabore grade
chechk the specs
