Roughly how much does it cost to replace the battery for citizen eco drive? It should be replaced every 10 years right?

Coutourier is automatic, prettier, very appropriate dress watch. But then, I am biased coz I am owner of one.

Was at MidValley today and spent some time at the ball exhibition.

Must say lots of poison.

Some of the models that caught my eyes are: (All prices quoted after discount of 30%)

i) Engineer Hydrocarbon Spacemaster @ RM 7,000.00
ii) Engineer Master II Diver COSC @ RM 5,850.00
iii) Enginner Master II Diver World Time @ RM 5,850.00 (sold out) - Winner of BaselWorld Timepiece of the year 2011

Right now, I am in a huge dilemma on which to choose:

Either

Any of the above three or

Orient Diver 300m Pro @ RM 3,920.00

Ball's Pro are COSC certification, is Swiss pedigree. A special note on Enginner Hydrocarbon buckle... extremely gorgeous. Need to handle her to know it. Her Cons are Stock ETA movement, more expensive than Orient.

Orient's Pro is fully in-house movement and she is cheaper. Cons = Japan made lar, won't appreciate in value like a Swiss.

Please advice, fellow horologist ethusiast.

I would go for the Ball. Watchart carries a few Balls, both new and used, at quite attractive prices. Too bad they don't accept Paypal.

The Orient open dial series is a very nice option under 500. You can get it at most Orient dealers.

Hi guys,

I'm looking at getting a new watch. Two range that i'm looking to go for, 800-1.2k and also 300-600 range.

For the 800-1.2k, i've been looking at Seiko, Casio, Citizen, Victorinox etc. There's too many to choose from. Any advise on this or is there any other brands that fits this price range. I prefer automatic but quartz should be fine. smile.gif

As for the 300-600 range. I got my eyes set on Seiko 5, looking for a black bracelet or leather auto watch. Preferbably small size and not diver (don't like the numbers on the rims). Any advise? And what jewel is better and more accurate.

Thanks smile.gif

I also went to over to the Tissot shop at MidValley lst weekend and I saw a Heritage Limited Edition Valjoux -7750 chronometer. Price was RM 8,500.00 and no discount.

Other model can discount 25%.

But then it is quite difficult to get a Valjoux-7750 movement COSC.

I am tempted.

Some notable mention is the Ball Enginner Hydrocarbon Magnate ETA-2892-2 COSC @ RM 8,050.00 also Limited Edition. I am Salivating.

It seems these COSC Valjoux and 2892 movement are quite difficult to get whereas the 2824 are dim a dozen.

To give reader a sense of comparison, Rolex which is equivalent to ETA-2892/3 chronometer movement is priced around RM 20K above.
