was using Lokatoo GPS to get myself to Ipoh last week
ended up had to make a u-turn after some 60-70km after the blardy GPS asked me to keep right instead of exit left at Ipoh exit, blardy hell doh.gif

Invest in a Garmin GPS and update it with Malfreemaps.. Best combination to date..

It is advisable to look at the map instead of listening to GPS voice 100%. My fren got iphone 4, using the GPS is shyt, GPS ask to keep left then turn left but in front left turning is 1 way cant turn, need go right, so i look at the phone, the map shows right turn instead of voice saying left turn.

Now i using Ideal GPS from zhen^wei, not bad so far so good.

Usually go TT, so little ppl =.="

Must achieve target 10 car at least le.

the map showed that i needed to go straight for quite a distance before turning left. who knows after missing the left exit, they built a divider separating the highway (ipoh and PLUS)
my friend said the GPS was correct, if it was years ago, before they built the divider doh.gif

on my journey back to KL, i dare not risked it anymore. i fired up my Garmin GPS in my Nokia 5800 and used it all the way till the battery all drained up when i reached KL

Ya loh.. So many registered members.. But those come for TT so less. No extra curricular marks for them..  tongue.gif
Oh ya they built a new Ipoh exit ady.. But u couldnt have missed it mah.. The sign showing IPOH is even bigger than ur car.. And most probably ur map is outdated or they nvr update the map for the new exit.. Thats y i always rely on Malfreemaps.. Its free and its well updated with a great community..

Ps: i also use Garmin Mobile XT in my N97 and malfreemaps.  thumbup.gif

thought TT session always packed with people? laugh.gif

Lokatoo's map was updated to v3.25 (last month's map). I was undecided whether to follow the big IPOH sign or to follow my GPS, i decided that the GPS knew best, but that was the biggest mistake of the day doh.gif so, yeah, please use Garmin + Malfreemaps combo, it failed me occasionally in KL, but it was ok, it got me to my intended destination eventually

Dont trust GPS blindly.. Cos u never know whats gonna happen.. How can a 434Mhz processor be better than ur brain right?
The problem with Garmin Mobile XT is due to not enuf processing power from the phone as well as not so powerful GPS chip.. Thats y when u go between tall buildings etc u lose reception and it starts recalculating roads for u..

Our LYN Persona TT sessions very few ppl so far.. Need to boost popularity first..  rclxms.gif  Hopefully u can join us on our next TT?

yeah, will learn not to depend on GPS that much in the future smile.gif

haha, I am a morbidly shy person, and car noob as well, won't be able to talk much about my Persona besides the fact that it makes rattling noise here and there tongue.gif

Does it happen only when u're stepping on the brakes or when u're simply cruising at 120 above? If u're steering vibrate when u're cruising, it means u need to get ur tyres checked, & u might have to do tyre balancing.
*
just simply cruising
going to have it balanced during my 5k service in next two weeks
thanks

Hi guys,

Planning to get a lock for my car, not sure which is better; steering lock or pedal lock. Any suggestion? Any recommendation on where to get one?

Thanks.

Read a lot of talk regarding pedal lock in honda civic's thread. There are many of them questioning the credibility of Pedal lock. One of them even had his Civic stolen with the pedal lock installed... hmm.gif
*
oh well, i don't expect the lock to stop the thieves from stealing, but i expect it to discourage them from stealing my Persona (not worth the effort to bypass the alarm, immobilizer and another lock just for a Proton tongue.gif )

going for my 5k service soon, back to Serdang SC, after CNY. problems found so far:

1. buzzing sound from inside the glovebox when aircond is turned on
2. some liquid/gas sound from power steering when fully steer to the right/left
3. harder to ignite the engine at times (spark plug problem?)
4. other minor rattling sounds which i don't think i would mention, those sounds come and go anyway

Today i had a very new problem..when i try to start the engine..i see all the indicator lights up and when i start, there is no cranking but one loud "duuk" sound.(like metal hitting something)..tried it twice and finally the 3rd time able to crank start and drive as normal..

btw driving a PE-manual...

Anyone encounter this or shed some light on this??
*
faced it personally, another forummer here faced it as well. but it was like one time incident for me. the technician in SC asked me to try to shift to N gear before starting next time if i face such issue again *touch wood*
but i suspect that it might be due to immobilizer's problem. i just installed a pedal lock with immobilizer, and if i do not unlock it, the engine wouldn't start as well (same situation as yours)
