u change extractor arleady?
*
ya man. thumbup.gif plus midbox replacement cuz the original midbox is kosong type. since the original midbox is kosong type plus aftermarket headers, your exhaust will emit "zing" sound (pretty loud) so i replaced another pretty much similar unit but with fibre glass in it to quieten it.

QUOTE(ZenGTMM @ Jan 19 2011, 10:28 PM)
Disc cost around RM800 for Brembo Max slotted and ventilated disc.. Very good quality.. Its Brembo after all.. OR wait for xandras to reply.. He did some research in brake disc cost..
Ah really ah?? P1 and Lokatoo girl takde doesnt mean the end of the world lah.. Btw KKW need help with brake disc cost..
Yeah dyno lah.. Even running on the smoothest highway also will have slight vibration like my video.. XD Done on MIEX highway from Banting to Subang..

LOL good.. Add in a works filter first b4 changing ur exhaust for better performance..
Yeah he poisoned me kaw kaw in the last few post.. He had a unique 1-2,3-4 extractor with the o2 sensor located at the collector... And its dirt cheap too..
*
zeng: still wondering if mine is the correct design for it.... cuz i see most of them in the market is 1-4, 2-3 firing order headers. Even in the internet very hard to find 1-2, 3-4 firing order headers.

Oh.. kk thx man.  nod.gif
btw, anyone good in adjusting the headlight bulb position and give me some advice on adjust it back?
few months ago, my hand itchy to adjust it.. now my headlight "sesat" already  doh.gif
I tried so many time to adjust it back but cant get back the correct position
*
very easy... get back on the road at night.... observe ur headlight beam pattern. drive near to a sedan's back side... note the beam pattern and height. then go back home.... re-adjust accordingly. pretty easy actually. u can adjust the height and RH LH position.

guys, between hi-cam and port & polish, which 1 do you think is better to solve our low end problem?i am aiming at improving low end and the throttle response,i want some kick, any advise?i am planning to do either 1 of it....in a dilemma now sad.gif
*
try aftermarket headers like 4-2-1. it really improves it a lot.

Nope not i changed.. Jasondotcom changed it.. His posted lots of pics..
Ex d lah.. dont bother.. get new one.. Outside there so many fishes..
Use Esso 95 first.. Then after that change extractor.. Lightened crank pulley is mainly for low end torque only.. It wont help much on the high end..
Yeah cos all the headers were design for Campro kosong.. Then they dont want to keep stock for new and old campro, so they jsut recommend 1-4,2-3 headers.. Even kweng and those sunway shops have explained to me the design consequences.. Although they say u wont really feel the difference cause its only 1.6L car.. Not much gas to come out and affect the balance totally..
Normally change oil, oil filter and gasket plug only mah.. RM110 like that only.
*
so confirm la my header (4-2-1 type) in 1-2, 3-4 configuration is correct???? and what did kweng explained actually??? kind enough to share please?? i like his work.... always visit sites regarding his stuffs.

I've something better that can be done..

Go to the mini market near my house, buy a pack of Hacks for 50 cents.. I'd roughly get like 10 pcs of sweets, so 50 cents is worth it.

Then.. Take my own sweet time licking & sucking on my sweet.. Whenever desired, spit it out & stick it on his windows..

In the morning when sunlight comes in & heats up the hacks that's now sticking to the windscreen, the windscreen will crack..

Don't believe me? Try it..

anyone here got solution for the noisy "clanking" brake calipers? mine is soooo noisy clanking away on even the slights irregularities on the tar road.

replaced the brake caliper pin set under warranty but still there. its confirmed that the caliper is the culprit but still it seems like not going to be solved. called the SA and they told me that they are still inquiring on it but seems also like not going anyway.

shit man. frustrating. feel like just giving up on the warranty for the brake (clanking / rattling) noise and go to "outside" workshops to have it solved. outside workshop method will be taking the caliper apart and rebore the caliper pin holes and fit a rubber o-ring to 100% solve it.

seems like Proton can't do much on problematic things like these. damn it.

Awesome POWER!! Great pickup and top end pull..
Ya me.. Not much difference lah.. I recommend u just go for the grounding cable.. The VS is not worth the 150.. If ur budget constraint.. I recommend i save the rm240 for VS+GC and change ur spark plugs and air filter first.. Better improvements..
Yeah.. Works Engineering is a rebrand of Simota Taiwan.. Like Inspira is of Lancer GT.. tongue.gif
Oh sad.. Then i think i want to go next monday lah.. Take leave next monday.. Dont so dai sek take on friday. .haha..
Which carrefour? USJ 19 DIgital Mall one? I also wanna buy..
I think Proton will only have the spare parts for stuffs that have a proper problem rectification.. Like urs have to improvise by using their own technique, definitely Proton SC wont allow cos its against the rule of book.. Most they can do is regrease parts or replace it, not modifying it..
After CNY lah bro.. B4 CNY very the busy.. And im going back to JB on the 2nd Feb.. XD
My manual calculation always higher by 0.2L/100km.. But so far my meter has been consistant with my fuelly..

sounds like brake caliper rattling noises are not common problem reported in here. seems like i am the only one?! doh.gif doh.gif

Ya so far seems like u are the only one having the problem.. Since u said its rather loud then i think someone should have noticed it soon or later...
*
WTF man!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why this disease is following me to this car?! My myvi got this serious problem for 4 years and now i got this same exact one here on this persona!. Problems starts when the brake pad thins out like say less than 50%.

Too much power reserve in ur engine.. Cos u are not driving fast and using it.. So the engine sometimes will shudder to lose the energy off as heat..
Not really needed i guess.. The ECU will recalibrate itself.
Hmm not too sure about primacy LC prices.. Yea Yokohama S.Drive is also a very good tire.. Avoid Silverstone though.. Or u can even try GT Radial which is quite good.. Goodyear isnt that good so i dont really recommend u from using it if u have other choices.

Maybe cos of the road conditions in ur area.. Or the road u are always travelling on have the wrong camber gradient.. So it affects the brakes by providing undue stress when u brake??
Or mb u got a lemon..  sad.gif

adding ABS / EBD stuffs like what H line model has, the cost itself will make you feel complicated. hahaha... not worth it. unless, u can find a write off persona H line and get its braking system.

to improve the braking of the B series, i would highly recommend these to be done:-

1. replace the front brake pads to better friction pads. bosch stock pads suck to the max.
2. replace the master pump to H series or gen2's master pump. B and M series persona have smaller weaker pumps and thus, weaker brake pressure and braking power.

This is more than enough already but if you still want more, then add rear disc brake.

If want even more braking power, then replace the front disc brake to other car makes with bigger rotors with perhaps twin pot calipers. But this needs additional custom bracket works to have it fitted.

Been there, done that. heheheh....

But have not done anything to my brakes on my persona b series except replacing the front pads to higher friction pads to improve brake feel and braking power.

I know how they solve the brake caliper knocking sound.

As long as ur brake pads exceeds 50% loss due to normal wear and tear, the pins are moving outwards and soon enough the stock rubber bushing at one end of the pin could not absorb the vibration and thus, causing knocks.

Lame method of solving by Proton Platinum at Jln Tun Jugah, Kuching is to replace the pads. But i do not think anyone in the right mind would do so every single time the pads reaches 50% usage. There are still lots of usage life span left in them.

Cost would be about RM100 for machining the 4 brake caliper pins and retrofit them with rubber o-rings. Only can be done outside and not with Proton. This is the normal practice of most vehicles having such brake caliper knocking problems.

I didnt do mind as my pads are about 90% worn out. Therefore i just had it replaced with another Trestor Advantage pads. Estimated total mileage for my pad change currently is about 27k KM.

I think modifying the bodykits first would be a better idea cos the current bodykit cant fit that big exhaust right? Its going to look very awkward..
That means this brake caliper prob doesnt just occur for 1 car make only lah.. To be honest its the first time im hearing of this prob.. How loud is the brake caliper knocking sound?

Added on January 28, 2011, 4:35 pm

Just make sure the rims u buy are 4H, PCD 114.3 then its ok.. As for the offset.. Stock rims is +46.. I can add a bit if u want.. But the lug nuts will bear a lot of stress lah.. If offset lesser than the rims might knock the inside of the tire well when u do full turn..
*
brake caliper knocking noise are quite common among car makes. Some have some dont. Google it sure can get a lot of these. Especially e46 BMW, Nissan Sentras, MyVi.... etc.

How loud???? As it goes thinner and thinner..... IT IS LOUD enough to annoy anyone driving!

the brake really tak boleh pakai. i feel the car still moving when i brake.
the handbrake hv to pull very high when i park my car in slope, if not, the car still can moving.
Is it all this can be fix during first 1k service? Or i need to mod in other workshop?

How much do you pay for replacing front pads? will it void the warranty???
*
ya stock pads really shocking.gif coupled with the weak brake master pump (B & M Series only) is even much more shocking.gif shocking.gif

Pads? Depends on what pads you're going for. Ranges from RM65 till over RM150++ also got. Most positively reviewed pads in here are Trestor Advantage & Bendix Metal King Titanium (MKT).

mine is the road noise is much loader compared to when it was new. doh.gif i think mb the spray on undercarriage spray (rubbery type) dried up already.... so less noise absorption. i think!
