Eh? We're buying a well known blatant cheater and we are supposed to be happy about it? Flaming heck, I'd rather see konchesky as a striker than have that fella onboard. Wouldn't sign him even if he paid us instead!!!
*
a good player and dont mind him here. diouf is far more worst than him. not that i'm okay with what he did but tbh henry and maradona should get the same cheater treatment...

make you wonder, how many player would respond like fowler did when seaman 'tripped' him years back? not many..

QUOTE(Petre @ Jan 17 2011, 02:29 PM)
i just read back a few pages to find our discussion regarding suarez's handball debate. its a bit late i know but lemme just erm, give my last opinion on this...

football perhaps should adopt basketball's rule of goal tending. if a shot is goal bound, and a player delibrately use illegal ways aka hands to try to divert it, the goal should just stand, and its up to further debate as to whether to red card, yellow card, sin bin etc for that player. i think this will stop such events from occuring again, and i think is the fairest to all parties especially the attacking team

i dont know, if carra one day uses his hand to prevent an everton goal, this will surely spark a mega debate laugh.gif

it reminds me off henchoz goal keeping against the gooners.. reina would be proud tongue.gif

aqua is not coming back and dont blame him either. a mistake made by purslow (not RH mind you) loaning him to juve.

kelly need at least another year to blossom in RB before converting him to CB. much like Carra.. Rafa transform him from average utility player to a top CB in Europe. lets hope KD can do the same with kelly.

Rafa effort to revitalized the academy finally acknowledged by the king himself.

Taken from RAWK

QUOTE
Kenny Dalglish today paid tribute to Rafael Benitez for his part in reviving Liverpool's youth academy.

Conor Coady and Suso, two mainstays of the current under-17 squad, were familiarised with Melwood, the club's training ground, this week as part of plans to blood more youngsters from the previously ailing centre of excellence in Kirkby into the senior ranks in the long-term
.

Kirkby underwent a significant transformation in the summer of 2009 when Benitez, then manager of the Reds, enlisted the services of Rodolfo Borrell and Pep Segura - key figures in Barcelona's La Masia academy set-up.

In addition to recruiting his compatriots, the Spaniard also brought one-time chief scout Frank McParland back to his former club to oversee the progression of Liverpool's rising stars.

And Dalglish has hailed Benitez, who left the club acrimoniously last summer, for his efforts in restoring the Anfield production line following more than a decade of decline.

He said: "I wouldn't go and say there are any kids who played in the Youth Cup against Crystal Palace are going to be first team [yet] but the progress at the Academy in the last year and a half has been absolutely fantastic.

"That's great credit to Rafa who brought in Pep Segura, Rodolfo Borrell and Frank McParland. He reorganised the whole Academy and you can see the benefit in the kids now. It's fantastic to see.

"The reserve team's average age has been drastically reduced. Whether we get them through or not, we'd never put that pressure on them, but we're clearly encouraged by the work that's being done there and it's a work in progress."

YNWA Sir Bob.. forever the greatest English manager!

not to bother with the lack of signing yet. KD and Commoli know what they are doing. we may missed CL this season but i pretty confidence top 7 and hopefully KD will stay beyond this season. although it was only Wolves yesterday but you could see the renewed faith and confidence from the players. especially torres. poulsen have a cracking game? it would never crossed your mind right?

Be honest never really watched this adam fellow. Just a few youtube clips than poped up lately. He's no alonso but can see the quality is there. Still young sumore. A good signing if we managed to sign him. Also our midfield will be sorted for future.

lucas too still young so its unfair to compare him with masch. He's shite before but hes alright now. It seems only RB saw the potential in him when everyone else (me including) critisized him. He improved alot so give the lad a break willya?

Nice one duke..

The last 15 mins was like horror movie. If the torres goal allowed then the game will be alot different. But a win is a win.

If roman offer 50mil or 40 + anelka then why not. I can understand why he want to leave but submitting request a few days before window closes is a bad move from him. Maybe gerrard and kenny could persuade him to stay at least till end of this season. Or maybe he will change his mind and do a 'gerrard'.

No player is bigger than the club but we aint letting torres go for cheap either. Still, kinda heartbreaking to think he gonna play for a a rival and banging goals for them...

nah.. if he goes its not the end of the world. its not like we never won when torres or gerrard didn't play either. big names players will not guarantee success. a couple more years rebuilding not that bad. the young uns in the academy is full of talent. future is bright, lads.

@dundermifflin even u didn't stated u are a manc people could easily figure out after reading that post. cheers.

I totally agree with you, to be honest i hate the "no players are bigger than the club" things....i mean come on Liverpool atleast stay behind the player for once to persuade or convince Torres to stay instead of negotiating with Chelsea about transfer deal!
*
1st of all.. he suddenly request to move. kenny and most probably gerrard and pepe already persuade him to stay.. at the end of the day if he still want to leave then it is his choice. why try keep an unhappy player around? better grab the offer up before its gone. its no guarantee he can 100% focus on the game...

why the harsh word on torres? though he's wrong to submit request a few days before windows close but he have the rights to. i think last year's + hodgson's drama demoralized and kill part of his soul. maybe he want a fresh start. the lad doesnt looks like he want to move because more money.

he made the kop bounce again.. he's that special.

btw, he's not gone yet does he? chill...
