Jon Carter: CARROLL UPDATE: He's just left the Newcastle training ground... but of course he might just be going home. Now Sky Sports are claiming that ''reports are inaccurate'' that a £35m bid has been tabled.

Chris Murphy: Right, I shall kick off my stewardship with a Charlie Adam update. As far as Ian Holloway is concerned there is nothing to say. He hasn't heard anything about an improved offer from Liverpool.
Chris Murphy: Its a massive gamble for Kenny Dalglish too. He's about to spend a combined £60 million on a striker with decent European pedigree but a questionable temperament and a raw, unproven striker with a history of getting into scrapes.

Jon Carter: Blackpool manager Ian Holloway claims chairman Karl Oyston is refusing to answer calls from Liverpool regarding midfielder Charlie Adam. ''He's my player and that is the situation at the moment,'' said Holloway. ''I spoke to Kenny Dalglish the other day and he made an improved offer. I talked to the chairman about it and he turned it down. Damien Comolli has now tried to contact Karl but he hasn't returned his calls. He hasn't got to has he? It's pretty rude isn't it but if we run out of time...''

Newcastle to Liverpool = 7 hours??? You must be joking. It takes roughly about 4 hours only to get to London from Liverpool by car. I've driven upto Newcastle before from Liverpool and it took me just off 2 1/2 hrs
i know Carroll is only 22 and hv plenty of years ahead of him but 35mil for him??? i think its madness. 11 goals so far first year in top flight football. anyone remember Andy Johnson? 2nd highest tally in the league playing for a team that is eventually relegated.
I just don't think 6mths in top flight with 11 goals hardly justify 35mil.
you have to remember that he is an English boy. so you have to pay high price for them.
Chris Murphy: So, Chelsea placate their fans with Torres, Liverpool placate theirs with Suarez and Carroll. Who do the Toon Army get to placate them? Monday January 31, 2011 3:49 Chris Murphy 3:51
