Personally, I don't think Torres did anything wrong in putting the transfer request. He has every right to do that. Its just up to the club to deny or approve his request. I don't deny he is of a great value to the club, but if selling him means lfc can strengthen the club in other areas, then why not? what's the latest rumor these days? 50mil, 30 mil? With that much money, why not buy a very decent striker and whole other players too?
