霹靂‧怡保12日訊）佳世客（Jusco）已在怡保孟加蘭上環18（Station18）動工，興建霹靂州最大的購物廣場。

建築工程已在1月6日開始打椿，預料趕在明年2月2日完成。據悉建築工程是由日本承包商負責，已在日夜趕工，要在一年內建好。

2012年的華人農曆新年落在1月23日（年初一），如果是在2月2日完成，將趕不及在新年前開張營業。

佳世客是永旺（AEON）旗下的購物廣場，永旺和孟加蘭上環18發展公司──集力產業集團成員之一Kemboja Iringan有限公司，已在去年6月28日正式簽署買賣合約，協力推動上環18一帶的發展。

IPOH: Team Keris Bhd has pledged RM4mil to spruce up the surrounding areas of the Station 18 commercial area in anticipation of the completion of Perak’s largest shopping mall.

A five-storey Jaya Jusco with an internal built-up area of 1.2 million sq ft is expected to be ready by February next year within the Station 18 area in Pengkalan.

”We will be widening roads and putting up traffic lights to ensure a smooth flow of traffic,” said Michael Tan, a director of Team Keris which developed Station 18.

He said upgrading the infrastructure there would take about three to four months.

Tan gave a press briefing yesterday to dispel market buzz about the exact location of the new Jaya Jusco.

He said Aeon Co (M) Bhd, formerly known as Jaya Jusco Stores Bhd, signed a sales and purchase agreement on June 28 last year with three parties which included Kemboja Iringan Sdn Bhd for the acquisition of the land.
