I see few forumers disasemble the casing, even removing the rivet, but where to get the tools for the riveting.
Is it like the one used by car accessories shop?

QUOTE(lun1986 @ Jan 13 2011, 03:37 PM) Thanks!!! But i wonder, after changing the color of the casing, then proceed with riveting. The rivet will be diff color? Or have the rivet to be included for the color change as well? This post has been edited by chong82: Jan 13 2011, 04:33 PM |

if u spray before rivet then the colour of the rivet will remain
if u spray after rivet then the everything will be the same colour so far, i've only seen grey and black coloured rivets that can be bought... |

the common road block for those who's interested in case modding, understanding rivets. it's actually pretty easy. all the tools can be purchased from your local hardware stores and carrefour supermarket.
can pm me if you have any questions |

QUOTE(chong82 @ Jan 13 2011, 07:22 PM) Thank u all sifu for the info. But if spray after rivet, why still need to disassemble for color change? Hmmm.. Its simple and logic man. If u got plenty of time n money to burn, u may disassemble the case to pieces. Why? so that u can prepare the metal surface of that casing, be there removing the old paint or anything that cross ur mind. Every metal need different treatment. By disassembling the casing into pieces, the paint that u spray may stick to the surface evenly without missing a spot if you do not disassemble the case. Resulting nice flat surface of paint. To assemble the case by removing the rivet all u need is power drill with suitable drill bit size. Please search around for the drill bit size. (there's a lot of video tutorial on YouTube on how-to do this) To re-riveting the case, u gonna need Sheet metal Rivets and Riveting tool. all of the hardware stated u can find at ur local hardware store. |
