Yea its definitely out in the market, CNY promotion summore

IMO, if you wan the best and awesome quality go for ASUS(expensive). If you wan a good performance but ok ok quality go for Lenovo, Acer or Toshiba (price ok la). DELL and HP sucks !!!Don't even bother bout Sony Vaio, its more on looks than performance

Added on January 14, 2011, 11:59 pmoh yea just to confirm
ATI 6570m or Nvidia GT540m better????

GT540m got benchmark on notebookcheck.net but 6570m don't have. Somehow the 6570m is higher than GT540m
*
there's 2 variants of 6570M, 1 is GDDR3 and GDDR5...

540M is slightly better than the GDDR3 6570M... However the GDDR5 6570M pawns them both...

http://h20386.www2.hp.com/MalaysiaStore/Pr...95&pid=C338007&
I would get this if dv6 improved their ventilation since the last model...

The benchmark
http://3dmark.com/3dm06/15217436

apparenly the Lenovo one is GDDR3 according to a forummer... So HP dv6 wins handsdown for RM3299...

8600M GT = 8000M series Nvidia GPU, famous to have overheating problems and break down very easily..

apple too expensive and for the hardware u get the price is not worth it apparently. yea..the acer is a good suggestion. thanks for that smile.gif any others? just in case he doesnt like it
*
Hardware isn't really an issue if you're not a gamer... sound recording obviously go for Apple... Garage Band is 1 of the best (if not the best) amateur recording softwares.... U can see a lot of famous youtube singers all using garage band to record their songs... MacBook white is just around Rm3k?

Indeed.

Asus warranty is available in the worldwide as long as there is a service center in that country right?

What about Dell? Their warranty only available in certain countries only right?
I see.

*
Yes for Asus... But you gotta bare with the way you send ur laptop for repair in certain places.. I am in London now, last time I sent my Asus laptop for repair, I have gotta call them up and request for a courier UPS sticker and have to package the laptop ourselves while writing the faulty of the laptop on a paper... Then call up UPS to collect the laptop... From then on you can only wait for it to come back.. I don't like the fact that you can't explain ur problems directly to the technician... and having UPS send the laptop to the service centre sounds a bit unsafe LOL

Dell warranty is Asia Pacific only if I am not mistaken?

on my watchlist are asus x42r,inspiron 15r i5 with HD550v and acer 4820tg
any suggestions on which one shld i buy?
*
i already replied ur question in 4820TG thread...

anyways, for ur budget 4820TG is still the best choice..

make sure u get the i5-480M + HD6550 version.. Someone stated that you can get for RM2370 in digital mall.. Upgrade ram to 4gb and you're good to go..

If you need a bigger screen and even better performances, go for 5750G with Sandy Bridge quadcore processor and more powerful GPU.. It sells around RM27xx...

1. Brand. - Any ( reliable )

2. Budget. 2k +

3. Specs.  i5 graphic card which can use most adobe softwares. ( design purpose ) , for normal gaming ( no need too high settings )

4. Size. Doesnt really matter as long as it works the way i want to.  maybe ( 14 '' or 15'')  * easy to bring around *
*
Again the same choices... Acer 4820TG @RM23xx-24xx - i5-480m with HD6550.. add additional 2gb ram for RM70 and you're good to go...

Else you can refer to those few new Asus lappies selling for RM2699 RRP in the previous image..

the HD 6570 is better than the one in acer 5750 (540M)?.. hmm.gif

around the same, 540M better than this HD6570 GDDR3 on paper though.. But in terms of gaming performance would differ with different games...

However there is a variant HD6570 GDDR5 available in the new Hp-dv6 for RM3299
http://h20386.www2.hp.com/MalaysiaStore/Pr...95&pid=C338007&

This has much better performance than both previously stated GPU's...

any other brand??? looking for long live battery performance also
*
Acer 3820TG is the best...

battery life is like 6-7 hours... i3-380M with HD6550.... Slim profile around 1.8kg only and 13inch screen.. RRP Rm2199 but I think you can find slightly cheaper at Garage sales...
You can't find anything better than that at the price...

If I am not mistaken, there is no 13 inch or smaller laptop on the market now which comes close to 3820TG in terms of gaming...

To be honest, those are 1 of the bullshits sellers talk about.. RRP is rm2999, how can it spike up to so high? I dun think that's ethical.. If really like that, ppl would rather get N53SN which is Asus premium series with better GPU and cheaper price then..

Added on January 16, 2011, 7:50 pmYup, most laptops tend to have their ventilation holes on the left side because so that it won't burn or hand or smth when u using a mouse..

JBL are quite famous speakers manufacturer for Apple and their IEM and headphones aint bad also..

Hmm weird no subwoofers? I rmb the previous generation Y560 has it..

I thought Acer has 2 years local warranty OR 1 year international traveller's warranty?

Haha.. Of course... There's no 8 core processors until at least 2012 I think... It's 4 cores/ 8 threads.. 1 core have 2 threads..

Oh...you see. I am going to Australia on early February. So...I can't wait until early February only purchase my lappy. Might get it within this coming week or the week 28th Jan to 30th Jan(Malaysia IT Fair), that is the latest I must get. Now waiting for Asus A43SV but still haven't available in the market yet.  cry.gif
*
Why not get Asus N53SN then?? I think i heard some retailers saying that it's available next week or coming very soon, which I assume is before February..
Asus is the best choice if you go overseas because 2 years international warranty... N series uses B&O speakers also...

Yeah...if that's the case should be getting Lenovo Y560p and fork out some $$$ on international warranty. I heard Australia's lappy costs more if you convert it to Malaysia ringgit (that's what I heard from my friends la). Anyhow...thanks for your reviews and suggestions. nod.gif

Depends, they have some models which are not available in Malaysia and are cheaper... But most of it should be cheaper in Malaysia based on current prices/trend.
