2-4gb ram
Quad processor no need newest

Can't get Quad processor with this budget...

If you can fork out RM27xx, can get Acer 5750G

How does the faulty chip affect the laptop? Hang/overheat etc?

Thanks for the ratings, if 5730 can't handle 1080p well, GT420M would be much worse seeing it's slower than a HD5650. So if going for high performance 5750G is the best option in terms of price & performance.

An extra rm400 from 15R i3 to 5750G resulting a big jump in performance is still tempting though. Wonder if current Acers already have the fix?
*
He meant it won't handle well to game at 1080p resolutions... 1080p movies all those GPU can run just fine...

But u can always still play at 720p on a 1080p screen.. it's really noticeable anyways since it's just a 15-16 inch screen..

Thanks for recommendation, 1830 is hard to get, if RM2.2k I would better buy 3820TG with HD5650 tongue.gif Just looking for something cheap with usable battery life

If A42Je could switch to its Intel HD I would expect better battery life and lower heat
*
Just increase ur budget by rm100 can get 3820TG already ar haha.. It's with HD6550 btw... Can get for below 2.1k I think..

Hey! any pros can give me a comparision between HP Pavilion DV6-4003TX and Asus N53SN? smile.gif does any of it has overheating problems?

No overheating problems but dv6 is slightly hotter than N53SN because of it's thinner profile

Have been look into Asus A42JP-VX098V , Dell XPS15

is it HD6570 a strong gc ? does 2gb realy big different from other 1gb gc ? course very less 2gb gc inside my budget range hmm.gif and the new SB processor would be out on march rite ? should i wait for it ?

i hate having many finger print on my lappy so avoid glossy cover and keyboard tongue.gif

is that glossy screen will reflect light like mirror and non glossy screen wont ?

and last question is, is both Asus A42JP-VX098V , Dell XPS15 meet the condition i want ? course only surf on the net so far thumbup.gif

sry for so many question rclxub.gif

A42JP is ur best choice if you want the best GPU for the price range...

Slightly below is 4820TG iwth HD6550, but beats A42JP with its battery life...

1gb n 2gb no differences....

Hi guys..Great thread you all have here smile.gif Urgently need your help to help me decide on a new laptop im planning to get..

1. Brand - Open to any suggestions. Although i've received feedback from ppl that HP&Compaq isnt that good and Dell always have something going wrong with the minor parts.
2. Budget - Below 2k
3. Specs - Main usage will be for watching shows/movies, general online purposes. Preferably a lighter type notebook, good battery life, long lasting, and doesnt overheat easily.
4. Size - 13-15" will do.

Looking forward to your feedbacks. Thanks a bunch!

Can consider up it budget to rm2.1k to get Acer 3820TG, 13 inch with 7-8 hours battery life
