Get the new sandy bridge HP-dv6 at rm3299 only.. It has the best GPU for it's price range.. Sweet design also... It would be fine as long as u have a cooler..

prefer any brand of laptop

budget less than 2.5k

mostly use for -
- audio & video editing
- doing vocal recording
- some middle-end gaming

thanks.
*
vocal recording? IMO Mac's Garage Band is 1 of the best vocal recording software... Would suggest MacBook White but it's slightly out of ur budget... In terms of built-in microphone, it's the best also..

Unless u're using USB Condenser mics, u can try to get Acer 4820TG @RM24xx.. But then Window's recording software aren't as good unless u pay for some expensive ones..

Between HP Pavilion dv6-4003TX and Asus N53SN which one have better performance in gaming ar? Thanks..
*
this one really hard to say.. I am guessing both would be around the same since both can score 10k in 3Dmark06...

But then need to wait for benchmarks from users then only know...

A42JP-VX098V or 4820TG or 5750G ?

I was first tempted to buy 4820tg already . But had problems choosing again when i saw the other 2 models !

Any advise ? Prise wise around RM2500 .
*
5750G is around RM2800 though.. more than ur budget...

Specs wised, it's the best.. Dunno ur requirements but u might not need such a powerful laptop also..

My requirements are moderate gaming (Fifa and so on) , homework and might also use it for my engineering course next year .
*
Well, get 5750G then.. Bigger screen and ur engineering course might use heavy programs, so a good specs laptop should be better...

A42JY is HD6470 only, quite a weak GPU.. Better off getting Acer 4820TG...

Hi all Sifu, im going to get my sis a notebook

1. Brand. --> Any
2. Budget. --> max to 2.5k
3. Specs. --> decent processors like i3
4. Size. --> 12" and below (mayb 11.6" ?), hav to be lightweight

the vaio Y series VPCYA15FG/B seems like the ideal 1 but seems like can't b found in local market...is there any others choices except this?

any recommendation is appreciated~
*
I dun think there're any notebooks under 13 inch with FUll Powered Core i processors... I think 3820TG would be the best choice for u...

That's one of the coolest things about Asus machines, with their 2 year international warranty, doesnt matter where in the world you buy it from, your laptops' gonna be covered for 2 years minimum. Also, what the f is a 'ULV' processor?
*
Lol.. ULV = ultra low voltage like the processors in AW m11x and thinkpad edge 11..
SB ULV are gonna be in the upcoming Samsung 9 series

Does Malaysia even have it? The one in senq doesnt even state the specs..
I have doubts about the pricing even it's the real thing.. Cause 4741G is around rm2.5k..
If it's so, then it's good bargain.. But then timelineX series would still have better build and battery life..

what about i add i raise my budget to 2.5k .. any other laptop that fullfill my specs?
because i dont really like acer 3820TG.
*
For 13 inch with HD6550, no u can't find any 13inch with better GPU even if u raise ur budget to 3-4k IMO... Unless u go for 14 inch...

Btw it has 2 fans for an 13 inch and long battery life, how can any laptop beat that huh...

Okay, thanks for suggestion.
Let say i will upgrade ASUS X42JR-VX141V from ram 1gb to 3gb.
How much overall i will spend?
Is ASUS X42JR-VX141V  good? cry.gif
*
Let's just say u cant really game much with x42jr since the GPU is really weak.. If u dun game, better get Lenovo V470 @rm26xx... Much better option and using SB processor.. Intel Hd3000 almost same level as Hd5470 anyways

Then x42jr definitely a NO.. consider asus n82jq or asus a42ja.. Or get the Lenovo y560p with SB...

QUOTE(qreemall @ Jan 26 2011, 11:21 PM)
1. Brand: any brand except acer
2. Budget: around 2k-3k
3. Specs: any spec as long as i'm able to play Civ V, dead space 2, & coming soon: total war: shogun 2 with medium to high setting
4. Size: preferably 13" screen and below (and preferably non-glossy screen)

i wonder if i can get any notebook with this kind of spec and pricing...
*
Acer 3820TG @rm21xx is the only one capable to play recent games properly and it has long battery life and 2fans.. Sony vaio z out of ur budget also, stillthe GPU is not as good as 3820TG

QUOTE(PlayMaker` @ Jan 26 2011, 11:26 PM)
Guys, advice please.....

1. Brand: Any brand
2. Budget: Less than 2k
3. Specs: Any specs will do as long as can do some Ms. Office stuff and play games (Not those high requirement games).
4. Size: Maybe 13 - 14?

The user is a Form 1 kid.

Thank you very much!
*
Then check out any laptops with i5-480m/i5-460m with Intel HD within ur budget should do the job

P.S. Everyone before you post, can u guys at least read the previous few pages before asking?! There's been tons of similar budget and uses for many ppl.. Should just refer the answer given previously since those mentioned are the best deals currently.. Notice many sifus dun come here give answers anymore? Because the things asked is repetitive again n again..
