the shop keeper ( PC-ZONE ) ask me come on march 8th ,becos A53SV arrived on tat date , and the topping floor of lowyat plaza promotion wat aniversary bla bla have no more A42JP and A52JV, and they cant answer me when is the A53SV coming..... and almost all shop dont have A42JP ,N43JF and A52JV already....... the only choice left>>>>A53SV~~
*
It's reasonable that they won't keep too much stocks of the old i5-480M lappies since new SB dual cores all around the same price also... LIke A53Sv, exact same price as A52Jv but better specs haha.. What is Asus Malaysia thinking!? Asus A52Jv just came out 1-2weeks ago haha

Help recommend me a laptop, guys. biggrin.gif

Laptop brand: Any except for Acer. (Preferably ASUS)
Budget maximum 3k.
I want to use it mainly for multimedia work (Adobe, 3Ds Max, photo editing, video editing, etc) and gaming.
Also want a good quality speaker.
*
Wait for N53Sv to come out around early March.. Around RM2.7-2.8k... I think it's just about the right choice for you...

sorry to ask this , what the use of GPU switching? i dun think i m gonna chg my GPU de lor.....so do others...
*
As we know, discrete GPU's consume much more power than normal than integrated ones.. Switchable GPU lets u have the ability to switch between these 2 depending whether u need battery life or not.. For instance, if using integrated GPU battery life probably can last 4-5 hours

x42jr? I was about to buy that laptop (for rm2.8k) before I came here to ask for recommendation. Is it any good?
*
It's totally not good at all if u want it for gaming.. It's the only quad core around RM2.6k... Btw it's already EOL and dun think u can find it in shops...

Low battery life around 2 hours is to be expected since it's a first generation quad core and dun have switchable graphics...

Is re-release of the Y560P be able to switch gpu?

So the X43jr already reach its EOL? I went to a local pc shop and the shop owner desperately want to sell one to me for rm2,799.  shakehead.gif
*
Nope, Y560p has been proven to not have switchable graphics sadly...
Yea, no more already... Probably leftover stocks the shopkeeper wanna clear LOL... but 2.8k is a scam.. U can get it for Rm2.6k last time, whats more it's Old model already he still sell so expensive...

Uh guys, should I buy the laptop directly from shop or should I buy it online (from a user here). What do you think?
*
Buying it from Garage sales is gonna be cheaper than shops, but u have to wait for delivery, buying in shops u pay a bit more but can get laptop immediately, ur call

i think its a typo error. supposed to be 2410. but the benchmarks seem disappointing. its even slower than i5-460m?
*
Those in notebookcheck are just approximate positions la..can't trust those.. Benchmarks from the new MBP 13 has shown better results than previous MBP 17 with i7 dual core..

what do you mean by approximate position? hmm.gif sequence order in the list?
*
Notice the i5-2410M have a star '*' symbol in front of its rankings??

They're just guessing the position of the processor because there is no real benchmarks for it yet for their website...

That's why it's not necessarily slower than i5-460m...

I am thinking it's definitely faster, even faster than i5-540m/480m.. If the benchmarks from Macbook Pro 13 wouldn't be so high...

Sorry but I gotta ask, I just saw one video about Sandy Bridge vs. Llano.
Llano seems to be much better than the Intel's.
How can this be confirmed and when in the Llano going to hit the market??
*
That's just 1 test regarding power consumption, we can't be too sure about it yet.. And AMD is known best to delay their releases...

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Mar 2 2011, 09:05 AM)
Huh? The new ones are out already?  shocking.gif
That's fast  laugh.gif
Bro you must be a spy from Dell  laugh.gif
*
Haha... no such thing lol.. It's quite obvious as in January the Dell representatives already did told us there would be XPS refresh in March, adding that everyone is trying to release the SB ASAP to get a head-start in the competition, so early March is highly probable... And pricing is shown by the trends as MYR have been appreciating against USD the past few months..

what the benefit of alluminium silver body? it will generate lesser heat?
*
Erm, nothing much really, it looks nicer and it's definitely more solid than those plastic in A series..

However, aluminium would tend to feel hotter? Since it's a good heat conductor anyways, but at the same time it would dissipate heat better also...

as all three are asus-branded, so it is safe to say currently ASUS lappy would be best for bucks right? smile.gif

I think i might go for U41JF-WO134V...
*
U might wanna wait for N53Sv to come around next week, should be priced around rm2799 RRP but comes with the new SB processors, it's 15 inch though...

N series benefits from their awesome speakers and build quality..

Thank you marcus for replying. But RM 2799 for original or second-hand ? And if original, where did you find one for RM 2799? I live in Kelantan. Anyway, thanks again. You really made me feel relieved.

RM2799 is first hand, marcus sells laptops so he knows smile.gif
