If you need the battery life, yes...
If you don't need the optical drive and don't mind weaker GPU, there's Asus U36Jc, 1.6KG@RM2999...
Similar product would be Acer 4820TG..

Dear sifus,

Hihi! I'm helping a friend to buy a laptop. I was wondering what are the latest/current available options for a RM1.5k 14 inch laptop?
It'll be used for net surfing/ watching movies only. Oh ya, don't want FreeDOS, too much hassle for my friend haha laugh.gif

THank U thank U! The more options the better notworthy.gif

Yup, freeDOS one..
If don't want dedicated GPU, the spec is pretty much the same throughout the model laugh.gif
like the Toshiba C640, Asus X42De, Acer 4253, Acer 4738Z, Inspiron 14, Samsung R429 etc...

If want dedicated, there's Asus A42Jz, P6200 + AT iHD6470, freeDOS@RM1599...
