on the day when i m about to bring my notebook to highpoint for ram upgrading (got warranty seal on the screw), the highpoint personnel told me just open it and dun bother about the seal as the seal is to ensure there is no tampering/parts switching by resellers, dun know how true is that but that is what they told me (dun hv black & white tho'
)
I can vouch for this also. Sent a lot of Acer's in for warranty after both RAM and Hard Disk upgraded, without much problems.The tampering/parts switching is a problem especially if you source your laptops from certain places in Lowyat. Their spec would never be the same as what's stated in the box, and sometimes you get conned by getting old parts instead of new when you buy certain upgrades.
They especially like acer because of the very low entry price.
