QUOTE(*********** @ Jan 24 2011, 11:17 PM) Eh, but I tried 3 times purposely to see any different if I charge while using laptop (and leave it inside even is fully charged), and charge while not using laptop. I get if charge while not using laptop (off) the battery has longer uptime (almost 4+1/2 hrs) than (2+1/2 hrs). I'm not sure if this coincident or what. Can someone do this too, so we can compare the result. - @iLoveChicks u bought ur lappy where? No this is not coincidence, should be normal because ur electrical current is shared between ur usage and charging laptop, that's why it's slower to charge it full.:

QUOTE(eugenechiuu @ Jan 24 2011, 09:29 PM) Yup no need take out if u're not gaming or anything.. It uses the electrical current from AC adaptor when operating even if there's battery attached..If u take out ur battery and leave it there it's gonna deteriorate as well sooner or later.. really? where you get this statement?

QUOTE(GooD_DaY @ Jan 24 2011, 08:38 PM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Yeah, I know it stops charging when full. But the laptop is still using the battery current right when operating? = = If it's true, then I won't take out my battery then. Very troublesome cause I take out when I don't need to use. So good in taking care my laptop now. Lol~ Lol, guess this year all the brand are reducing their price already, especially HP from what I see. Maybe 4750G might be cheaper QUOTE(tonyvyp @ Jan 24 2011, 11:23 PM) yeap, i've got an external HDD with usb 3.0 compatible...the transfer rate is about twice as fast as usb 2.0 only...from what i've read, it should be around 3 times faster...mayb it'll be different if the internal hard disk is SSD thou...not really sure Wow, that's really fast.

QUOTE(ping0613 @ Jan 24 2011, 11:42 PM) really? where you get this statement? er, if not where does the current come from?? when the battery is fully charged, the electric current stops flowing into the battery.... If u have programs like battery care, u can see the discharge rate as +0.00watts during that time... so whatever current ur laptop is using now comes from the adaptor and not from the battery.. if you're saying we're draining the battery and the adaptor is charging the battery at the same time, we would see an imbalance/fluctuation in the discharge rate obviously, it won't remain as 0 watts.. it is also because of this fact, we are able to remove the battery directly when it's fully charged because it's not charging or using it at all during that time...

Yup, eugene is correct. Just downloaded the BatteryCare and open it. This programme not only shows that there will be no current flowing in the battery but also display the laptop's battery model. Lol!

someone updated the bios from 1.01 to v.1.02? it's for downloading on the acer support site.
And by the way: i think pluging in the cable of the power supply into the notebook is alittle hard? i've got a 5742 runnig here too and her it is quite easier...
