How old until baby is responsive to call? Like when you call him, he will turn his head? My brother said that our baby is not responding to calls as it should. I am not sure at what age will the baby be responsive. I know he can hear us because when my husband cough even when baby is sleeping, the baby will jump and cry because he heard the father coughing.

Should I get our baby to the paedriatic to check up on his visions, listening and smelling? Otherwise, what we can do at home that can test out to verify that everything is ok?

I think to be on safe side..always refer to your doctor to check.

secondly...i joined this babycenter.com..which tells you what a baby should be doing...not exactly that all babies will be doing the same..as all babies are different..but it gives you a rough idea what to expect.

However, if you feel that there is something not right or unsure..always check with your doctor.

Here are some links that has the list on what babies should be able to do by so and so month.

If you are still worried, take him to see a doctor. I remember the paed checking for my baby's hearing after he was born, not directly after birth, but I think in one of the earlier check-ups. The paed checked with the Y shaped thing that vibrates after you hit it on something..

Yea he did and I just called up the paediatric to check yesterday and he said that prior to discharge from hospital, they would do a hearing test and I found the baby booklet which says that our baby hearing is normal. Nothing to worry about and the doctor offered us to bring our baby to him if we feel that it is required but right now, our mind is at peace because we know for sure he can hear us.
