Southeast Asia’s biggest budget carrier, said one of its planes came off the runway while landing in the rain late yesterday in Kuching, eastern Malaysia.
All passengers on flight AK5218 are “safe”, the company confirmed in a statement by SMS today.
“The wheels of the aircraft are stuck in the grass due to soft soil caused by the rain,” AirAsia said. “The captain did a good job in handling the situation. Engineering is recovering the aircraft so the airport can be reopened.”
