not the newpapers covered up the story, but AA is covered up the story so their business can still be running....................

Looking at one link in the first page, AA canceled (i think all) their flights to Kuching today. Probably due to the rain and also afraid that the same thing would happen.

Rain, low visibility, heavy load and probably some crosswinds. Pilot did a good job by stopping it in the grass.
