Tried Hotspot Shield? If you guys already did I think we ran out of things to try here.

My ways to deal with steam:
1)Reset modem to default, then set it up again.
2)Hotspot Shield
3)Set port triggering on ALL the port on modem
4)Reset TCP/IP
5)IF all else fail, reformat PC

Number 5 rarely works, unfortunately/fortunately so lets not try that. But there was one time when I cant connect to GFWL in DoW2, and I reformat as last effort. It worked, for some reason unknown to me.

That new indie game, ARES looks too much like megaman series. Except it seems to use the mouse for targeting.

Use genre selection. There is a "family game" genre, should be good enough for kids

Maybe its temporary, with their server having problem?...

What? Is that Shining Force they just released????? How strange, seeing that game again.....

It seems we have a new game (again) on Steam this week. Crasher, a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) with cars. Supposedly multiplayer only, with a 30USD price tag. Somehow with no AI I dont think this will last long. Sure hope there will be review for this, its does have interesting concept.

Never played it, but it seems to be quite bad

By the way, is it possible to activate DS2 on steam? Just curious

I do wonder if Steam is too hard to understand for most casual gamer.

Sometimes during massive sales I find myself itching to do crazy stuff like buying a 6-pack of L4D2 (remember that time, guys?) to gift to cousins and close friends. I mean it was just RM65 for 6 games, although in the end I didnt buy it. But if I did buy it, I'd probably spend my holiday helping people I gift to troubleshoot "steam cant login problem" or "steam wont update" or even "what is this steam thingy?"

Even pointing them to the first post of the thread might not be helpful. We get new people asking questions about steam every week, I guess the first post isn't too informative? Or maybe they forgot to read it, that might be it as well. But I'd seriously reconsider trying to get my non-gamer friends to hop in to Steam, I might end up being full time tech support.

FAQ about steam advantage is pretty much covered in "What is Steam" spoiler part. As for how to purchase I cant really help, but isnt it as easy as owning a credit card? And there's even a list of people that can help buy, they have their own thread for that.

What other FAQ do you guys think we should have? I suppose I can make some and ask talexeh to put it there.

I notice they include gold trade in WoW, and if I'm not mistaken you can get banned for that? Too suspicious. I suppose its alright if you're ready to take some risks

It will be downloaded along with the main game. Just install SupCom2, you'll install the DLC as well.

Just played Zombie Driver today. Good game, although story mode is quite boring. Slaughter mode is better. Just one problem: it can be very dizzying.

The problem might be caused by Physx. All games that use Physx (Frontlines, Scourge Project, Zombie Driver, etc.) gives low fps for me since I'm using AMD card. I avoid buying Physx games since then.

So nobody here tried Monday Night Combat? I dont remember we even talked about it. The trailers look good, but no demo.

C&C sale... if I actually have enough time to be playing I'd have bought a few.

It was formerly a mod, turned full game. I guess they didnt put a high price tag due to the low production cost?
The painkiller series are a bit stale now, last time I tried the demo and I stopped after 10 minutes. The original devs left due to some dispute with Jowood, and made Bulletstorm instead.
