if the cd crack/shattered/lost, you could always download ea download manager http://eastore.ea.com/store/eara/en_SG/html/pbPage.eadm , register a ea account, redeem your key and you can download it when ever you want ( just like steam )

as for multiplayer both steam and retail is the same

no dlc yet for pc

nope, none of ea games can be activate on steam

you only can activate it on ea download manager

download ea download manager http://eastore.ea.com/store/eara/en_SG/html/pbPage.eadm

create ea account( this login will be your online mp login as well for any ea games you bought )

login to it and redeem the key, then you can start download the game if you happen to lost the cd/crack

no worry, just send a support ticket along with proof of purchase on your account and wait for them to reply why your account is being disabled.
