I finished Gothic 4.

Gothic series isn't crap, it's just buggy.

to be fair, i doubt gothic is really that bad consider this series have quite a huge fanbase.
but after some reviews, i believe that this is a rpg not for everyone... killed by a boar? hmm, some skill required it seems...

still undecided, most probably give it a pass.. i am too used to playing a super hero and not ready to got my arse whoop by a boar..
and i still have few games in my collection to play, and some of the games in my wishlist are coming out soon..

Yeah, it is quite funny, the boar can combo main character to death.

And the wolves dodge your attacks like a pro! Fighting wolves was as far as I got playing G3 before incredulity overcomes me. Played too much Oblivion probably, in that game the wolves dont dodge.

Gothic 3 also left me a bad taste in the mouth due to the bugs on release and these damn boars.

I will pass for this one even though the price is okey, too many games, too little time to spend on games that I consider "ok" at best

nwn and witcher on sale again and again...but both worth to buy.

witcher is a really long rpg for me, did not complete it yet since busy trying to complete borderlands goty edition. games from the christmas sales still did not finish liao. haha

Fact is, why spend money on games you're not likely to play? Hell, none of you bought axel and pixel when it came out at 50% price. Only TotalBiscuit did and he made a stellar video of it. So at least he did something out of it.

If a game is buggy, i think that's a pretty good reason to say it's crap or otherwise not worth getting. The gothic games have previously been on sale and I've deliberated on getting them but I was put off by the reviews saying that it's buggy.

I think it's a fair comment that a lot of people buy games for "a rainy day" just because it's cheap. I know I have done it (many times) before with the result that I still have a lot of untouched games in my Steam account that I just don't have the time to play (and that i probably never will).

FYI you can get get really cheap deals on consoles btw. Just picked up some older titles brand new for <RM50 from GH a few weeks ago not to mention weekly sales on my 360.

With the new Play-asia member's club prices, the deals I'm getting is pretty insane. 60 ringgit to 75 ringgit games that are less than a year old. Pretty awesome.

Neverminds kidicarus. People spend their money as they please. If they want to throw money to a company because they have the money to spare, why stop them?

I never had any negative connotations on the statement that he's collecting games in the first place, he took it the wrong way. Hell, I buy games just cause they're cheap too. But I'm just a lot more selective due to budget constraints. There's nothing wrong with collecting games on Steam as they're all cheap.

Gamers in general never offer genuine positive criticisms other than the fact that it's different. OMG GAMES LAST TIME WERE BETTAH! Y U DO DIS? Comments are everywhere, in fact, I found reviews like the DA2 review from frags to be in the minority. Reviews that compare the games towards the enjoyment value and what the objectives are is definitely the exception to the norm.

The prices are consistent. Console games have ALWAYS been 10 dollars more expensive than PC games no matter the region. It's 65 Dollars for a US region game for the PS3. 50 dollars for a PC game of the same name. The fact that they've dropped them to amazingly affordable levels, to the point where it can compete with digital distribution that doesn't have physical media logistics to talk about. Is pretty amazing.

As for your last statement. It's just a reminder that people don't always have to have all the games that are cheap. It's not a crime to ignore a good deal simply because you have no use for the product.

I didn't say it was an awesome game, I just said it is a decent RPG.

Besides, it is just RM12.

He just camp in his friend's place playing Xbox 360 to earn achievements points. Playing full version of games and not paying for it is piracy.

Paying RM60 to RM75 isn't exactly cheap either, what are you getting at.

You were expecting console game prices on sale to rival that of digital distribution? Retail with physical media. PHYSICAL MEDIA.

The full games were paid for. Just not by me. That's like saying people who borrows my bicycle is pirating it or something. Doesn't make sense at all.

The definition of Piracy is that a NEW COPY is made physically/digitally available. Nothing about being able to play on the same copy.
