Still the phone is pre production unit, not yet release by samsung, maybe they can optimised the firmware before release it to consumer?
My sgs maybe are not perfect when it release but samsung still manage to improve it performance at froyo. Well, i hope they learn from the mistake when release the variant of SGS, difficult to maintain and different carrier requirement only slow their update process, release just one phone and optimised it to top performance is what they should do, then consumer will buy it without any doubt |

So far there is no gpu acceleration for android 2.x yet, in term of smooth sure iphone win but android main concern is to provide as many feature as possible for comsumer. So far, only honeycomb for tablet support gpu acceleration, you can read more about the gpu acceleration at my topic.
Android=feature iphone=human experience (simple,smooth) |

Samsung already add the special feature inside the galaxy s which support the hardware acceleration on the browser, maybe this phone come with it?
If true, this make the new SGS2 more special compare to other android phone line up. Plus with 1gb RAM, sure the browsing really good. |

For who still wonder what gpu are this phone, it is actually mali-400
http://www.arm.com/products/multimedia/mal...tcookie=classic There is benchmarks btwen the tegra 2 and mali400 but the score is not so good. The benchmark maybe are not optimised for 2.3 just like when testing quadrant on nexus s which keep crashing and remember that this phone still is the pre production unit and the software are still not finish yet. The mali400 also actually quad core and maybe the bennchmark does not take the advantage of extra core. Samsung claim it 5 times faster than current hummingbirds sgx540 so we can only judge it when it ready. http://www.anandtech.com/show/4177/samsung...400-benchmarked |

I already saw the video from phonearena, you can check it at youtube, the browser is actually quite good. Don't know bout the streaming but pinch to zoom can be done smoothly although the page are still not finish loading. Panning around the page also smooth. i read from the anandtech said that samsung also implants the gpu acceleration for the ui especially in touchwiz by samsung. Hardware acceleration in internet plus gpu acceleration in it's ui, it's like the phone from our dream, hope this phone same as it hype. If samsung don’t want repeat the problem as the current sgs when it is release, they should optimise the gingerbread to it full potential before release it to customer. I admit that samsung have a really good hardware but it software really suck. Only xda members are our hope if samsung can't do it...

QUOTE(oldKyoo @ Feb 16 2011, 02:32 AM) I doubt they will optimize any further, UK getting their within 30 days from now. But still chances are. 30 days?? Wow, that was really fast, wonder when it arrive here. The current SGS released around 2.5k so the price below this is really a slim chance, but everybody can dream about that right??Hope this phone cost 2.2k... |

QUOTE(clutch31 @ Feb 16 2011, 05:33 PM) You know, if the SGS2 has Xenon flash, or something like that Xrmor technology (or something) for the SE Arc that supposedly allows the phone to take quality pictures in low-light conditions, then this phone would be almost perfect for me and I'll grab it, 3k or not. If samsung use xenon flash, then they can't claim the thinnest phone in the world because xenon is bulky (remember n8, satio) |

Is it worth to buy this phone? Tegra 3 phone come at the end of this year, make me think twice, 5 times performance is a big step, even better than core 2 duo 2Ghz, maybe use my SGS until samsung announced SGS3 with quad core

QUOTE(oldKyoo @ Feb 19 2011, 12:33 AM) kinda true. For now I'm still satisfied with my SGS, maybe I should wait for a review first and decided later.Samsung holds the cards because of its magnificent 4.27 inches of super amoled + goodness. Does anybody know that the SGS2 use the gorilla glass? I can't find anybody mention about it |
