yes, I like mertersacker. If he can survive the tough bundesliga league, he'll definitely able to soak up the pressure. Oh gawd, times like this when you really miss vermaelaen.

there are two ways to utilize fabregas; 1- is to introduce him later in the game when things doesn't go our way or its a stalemate. 2 - put him in the starting line up and take him off halfway in the game when Arsenal have the lead. The way I see it, Arsene choose the first choice when against leeds because in all our previous games, fabregas is an effective plan B rather than being a plan A (starting 11). What I mean is, when fabregas is in the starting lineup, he is just as well effective, but when it happens that the opponent team manage to hold the team back, we don't seem to have any better alternative, apart from a minor change up front (either walcott, or bentdner).

I realise last week a lot of people complaining that arsene should have put fabregas early in the game and rest him after wards. But who is to say that fabregas could warrant a lead if he was to play early on? So in my opinion, Arsene's choice to bench fabregas was a good decision, regardless of the dreaded outcome, because I truly believe arsenal's starting 11 against leeds are equally high rated players. They failed to score simply because leeds produced some classy defense that night added with top notch goalkeeping.

As for tonight's match, I hope arsenal can really take advantage of the situation which ipswitch is in at the moment. Have a goal-fest at the same time, it'll do a world of gooding for the lads. Go, go Gunners!

WAHH...REALLY HARD TO SUPPRESS MY DISSAPOINTMENT after my previous post. Haizz....I truly hope the gunners are reeling in the guilt and be motivated to score in the second leg.

No use crying over spilt milk, just hope that this isn't the begining of a downward spiral for us.

w00t! my preditsyen came true!

Added on January 17, 2011, 2:05 amits all draw, with man utd and spurs sharing a point each without any goals. I can't say how happy I am to watch this impotent game. smile.gif

Added on January 17, 2011, 2:13 amso to conclude super sunday, the results are:
sunderland -newcastle : 1-1
birmingham - aston villa : 1-1
liverpool-everton : 2-2
man utd - spurs : 0-0 biggrin.gif

Gotta admit though, even with 10 man down, man utd defence is hard to penetrate. Spurs really gave it all in this game, cementing their team to european standard. Oh well, at the moment man utd have a possible advantage of 5 points ahead of arsenal. ITs still a close race and I hope arsenal can survive the hectic february schedule. Looking forward for arsebal vs barcelona game, but as always....lets take it one at a game.

gnite gunners!

Its boring if you're a fan of both team. Its darn entertaining to see them canceling out each other.

Honestly I don't know where people get the conclusion that Man Utd is considered 'weak' this season. Even with Rooney 'off-form', they manage to score 43 goals in all bpl games. They're second highest to Arsenal with 45 goals, but remember man utd still have a game in hand. Does that show anything of a 'weak' team?

granted they draw a lot of games, they're are still in fact undefeated, a fact that Gunners fans hate to compare with the Invincibles. Just keep telling ourself that they have to face Chelsea twice, but we too have a lot of top teams to consider too. Good thing that we've done past Chelsea and Man City, but a lot of our losses came from other teams too, so lets not get too complacent.

Man Utd are well known for their revival in the later part of the season, so like it or not, they're quite honestly the strongest team in the table at the moment.

the transfer may probably be a stepping stone. Something like what tevez did when he first joined west ham. In a bottom club, you can easily outshine every one else and raise your profile for other big clubs to take notice.

Take for example kaka, now that he's in real madrid, no one is noticing him at all. All that talent, wasted.

I like to see Arsene use the same strategy against ipswitchIpswich. Let's all park the bus too. That way, we'll all play chicken and see who dares to come forward to opposition. hahaha.

I'm one of those who always misspelled ipswich. tongue.gif

so Arsenal only have this one day to rest before tomorrow game. How wicked is that? I suppose Arsene might be lining up some 2nd string players for the wigan game. I still have some faith in the whole team nonetheless. go, go Gunners!

nope... i suppose cesc, jack, rvp, nasri, clichy and the lot will be back.

line up should be

woj
sagna-koci-jd-clichy/gibbs
song-cesc-jack
walcott-rvp-arsh/nasri
*
I'd say put rosicky as starting at left wing. Nasri for sub but arsha should rest for the next game. He does look jaded these past few games. Im so happy this season our team has got some good depth ajd very minimal injuries. I seriously wouldn't wanna be in Chelsea's predicament right now.

^^ ok it's my mistake to feed the animal and perhaps next time no need to respond to some childish post like those "self-destruction" claims or stupid predictions.

well lets concentrate on more constructive discussion.

as i said b4, do not underestimate Wigan that might give 120% effort to fight 4 relegation. sometime these kind of teams are more dangerous than big teams coz they will be all out to fight 4 survival.

i hope AW to put the 1st team (yeah i understand the fatigue issue) as we ain't got any luxury to drop points anymore, if wanna catch up MU smile.gif
*
Yea, fatigue can be affecting certain players in the pitch. So I hope Arsene will select only those who really can withstand 90 minutes of football for the team. Otherwise, its safer to let them rest. That means Arshavin should take a break and perhaps Song too. I'm sure Denilson and Eboue can deputize the midfield defense.

Of late, I noticed that Arsenal play with more urgent and direct against any opponent. You guys can see clearly from the % of possession that seems smaller than what we used to hold just a few month ago. Its probably good that we don't always pass around too much anymore. I guess, I like the new method arsene is setting up this season.

while arsene is gearing for a new CB, can he make a swap with keisuke honda and arshavin. Its a win-win situation for both of them I think. HOnda is currently playing in russia which he is having trouble adjusting and arshavin probably misses playing in russia so much.
