this is the first time in a very long while (read : Mike Riley at OT) where I end up speechless for about 5 minutes after the match ended, and trying very hard not to think that the referee on the day had something against us. it was indeed a very hard task, and i'm not even sure if i did manage to turn my head to the said idea
while i'm not happy that Abou's red card meant we lost our opportunity to close the gap to 2 points, i am happy that someone (moreover from our team) letting the thug that is Joey Barton know what we think of him in his own way. there were 2 very dangerous challenge by him last night; 1 on Andy and another on Abou went un-noticed (really Mr. Phil?) by the referee. and the fact that he finished the match without a single booking make you wonder what is his relation to Mr referee and i do not condone injuring any players deliberately, but Joey Barton really is walking that line dangerously now This post has been edited by toshio14: Feb 6 2011, 08:54 AM |

QUOTE(-Nos- @ Feb 6 2011, 08:54 AM) and also nolan's shove on Woj right after the first penalty? actually the tone was set very early in the 1st half where Robin was sandwich-tackled by 2 NU players right in front of the referee but he gave the foul for NU. watching the replay, there really was no explanation on why was such decision being made. even the commentator was saying "maybe Phil Dowd is feeling sorry for NU". so that's it la. even their 2nd goal was a handball IINMhe booked Woj for time wasting? what that got to do with that 2 thugs hassling for the ball? its not like their kick-off. seems Dowd was very excited with the comeback cant wait to award another angpau goal which is the second penalty not long after that. anyway, Abou need to learn from Samir on how to handle thug like Joey Barton..hahaha |

really speecless about the result
can someone enlighten me what is the foul on 2nd penalty? pushing from TR7? As for the game, everyone will said that it is Diaby fault that lead us to draw the game. But my POV is apart from the sending off, Diaby play quiet well. Hold the ball well, provide some nice pass (i think he has 1 assist for one of our goal right?), and very calm to control the midfield. Hope this is a good lesson for him, to stay cool and never provoke by the opponent the next time Hm...in fact the worst performance are come from TR7 and Squillaci But my feel of sadden suddenly overcome by MU loss This post has been edited by SeanWong: Feb 6 2011, 09:58 AM |

Just got up and I'm still shell shocked. Got updated on my phone in the middle of the night that man u lost LOL. At least that brighten things up a bit.
Anyway I haven't seen the match, but I can safely say it takes a collective effort for this kind of collapse. Yes, diaby is at fault too (but I just saw the replay of the tackle and I can understand why he reacted, and I don't wanna blame him), but past that it was a potent combination of bad refereeing, vanishing players and teamwork and tactical mistakes by wenger which allowed Newcastle to get back. Anyway we have yet another record on our books. This is the first time in the history of the BPL that a team has gotten into a 4-goal lead and yet failed to win the game. What a crazy day of football. |
