my m15x/nvidia gtx 460m is on stock driver 259.64 out of the box

im keen to update to the latest updated driver from nvidia - 260.99. But i always get error "install cannot continue - this graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware"

the same with the latest beta driver 266.35

tried using this here : http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/topic/278...ile-oem-mobile/

Enjoying my m15x sooooo much rclxm9.gif

was an avid gamer back in uni, but since started work last year, i have only a small samsung netbook as my only pc.

actually i wanted to purchase an acer 4820TG, and almost did so if not for the shortage of stock.

Then i considered that for rm2600 i can only enjoy so much with the HD5650, why not just go all out with a full gaming PC? But it takes up space, and i need it to be at least portable and can be used to bring along during those days that i can go home.

Salary is just sitting idly in the account, why not use it to make my heart feel good and as an investment?

And after that it was all Alienware..

Not regretting it at all.

And thumbs up to our esteemed TS and system seller - MrDocter for handling problems during the ordering process(my AW took a month - not anyone's fault) well and being a responsible seller thumbup.gif . Highly recommended.

Will post pictures of the custom nameplate later smile.gif

how do you use the notebook on a soft surface like sofa or bed? do u put a hard platform beneath or a cooler to keep the airflow going?

@twhong_91

some of our esteemed lowyat.net sellers have staff discounts, they can give you a very good price, lower than official dell prices

what you get is the same product, same warranty, same brand new sealed condition like buying from dell itself

@wadelucy

the m15x can only be installed with alienware graphics drivers. official ones from nvidia would not work.

my alienware m15x with intel wifi link 5300 is suspected faulty

dropped connection regularly, even tested my router with another netbook and used handphone wireless tethering just beside the laptop same dropping

by drop i mean the connection gets disconnected, sometimes cant even see my AP for a few minutes, and internet is damn slow

its not that weak a signal - 3 bars average - when conected

so installed new drivers, uninstalled - same effect

any experience guys? before i resort to calling Dell. You guys think they'll change at my home the wifi card?

Connection dropping usually would indicate a faulty router. If you use phone tethering and it still drop could means its your isp as the wireless unit is not use during tethering.
*
oh, i actually use wireless tethering via htc desire

problem still there guys, already changed channels - still disconnection

i think the isp is not at fault, when it disconnects, my AP(router) is missing from the list sometimes, only after few seconds and refresh it would show up again and reconnect

so since the disconnection happens on both router and phone wifi i suspect it may bew the wifi module in my notebook

well, the only solution is, uninstall the wireless driver from the add or remove(control panel), this would solve ur issue
