QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Apr 8 2011, 01:46 PM) Both the M11x and M14x ain't exactly light weight 14 or 15 does not make much difference ... Perhaps the new Dell XPS 14 replacement would suit your needs? Not many 14 inchers come with FHD I was eyeing on the Asus N53SN, but no FHD. then the Dell XPS 15 MLK ... weight with 9 cells 2.87kg, still bearable, but noticed the graphic card was okay only. Then the Alienware M15x ... but then the weight is > 3kg I think and not the latest CPUs ... by the way, I just noticed the M15x link is gone from Dell Malaysia website, or did I missed something? So maybe the M14x is more suitable for me? at least it is still below 3kg .... |

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Apr 8 2011, 02:19 PM) LOL, I beg to differ, 14 and 15 makes a whole world of difference Hmm ... really hard to decide ... Considered a Sager? As mentioned, M14x or the upcoming Dell XPS14 replacement (GPU probably nothing special as well) Or should I just settle with the XPS15 MLK ... Added on April 8, 2011, 3:29 pm QUOTE(duabijitelur @ Apr 8 2011, 02:33 PM) @sweeann... M15x is abt 4kg.... for me i wont get M14x ... cos cant compare with M15x... but then M14x is built for portablity.. Yeah, yeah, I remember it was like very heavy, but when I wanted to confirm again, the model was taken down dy ... This post has been edited by sweeann: Apr 8 2011, 03:29 PM |

QUOTE(Lil Kiasu @ Apr 8 2011, 04:26 PM) Now I normally fly Emirates or Singapore Airline ... so far they never checked the weight of my hand-carry, coz every time sure exceed one.But once I was traveling to Hong Kong on a business trip, using MAS, they ask me to weight my hand-carry luggage ... and it was like 12kg ... they force me to juggle the stuff from my hand-carry and the check-in luggage ... what a mess at the airport there .... I ban MAS from that day onwards. |

QUOTE(Lil Kiasu @ Apr 8 2011, 04:38 PM) No surprise there... Airports in the Chinese SAR has a pretty stick luggage regulation... They also check my carry-on luggage kao kao when I was in VHHH last year~ Yeah, I am still *trying very hard* to NOT to exceed the hand-carry max weight limit ... QUOTE(Lil Kiasu @ Apr 8 2011, 04:45 PM) You can leave the cables etc at the bag you're gonna dump at check in... I normally only dump my food supply, toiletries, clothing into the check-in luggage, the rest that is critical to my work I will bring in as hand-carry, no matter how heavy they are, as I got bad experience when I was flying in to *some* country, my check-in luggage bag only reach my hotel door step 7 days later my arrival ... imagine my external HDD, power cables all in that check-in luggage, and I could not start my work without those ... |

QUOTE(alvinkhorfire @ Apr 8 2011, 04:58 PM) sweeann Yeah, that is why my hand-carry always exceed the max weight ... I see your point. There is a remote possibility that the checked-in luggages may be lost or stolen. It is better to keep the power cables, external HDD and camera in hand-carry bag. Lugging heavy hand-carry bag is difficult, but it is better than facing the risk of losing the power cables in the checked-in luggages. QUOTE(Lil Kiasu @ Apr 8 2011, 04:59 PM) Oh my... That's a long wait for your checked-in luggage~ Yeah, thats bcoz there is only 1 flight per week flying in to that country, my luggage got stranded in Joburg airport during my transit, and have to wait for the next week's flight to deliver my luggage.Anyway, we are totally out of topic dy ... Now still thinking whether should I proceed with the M17x of 4.3kg ... |
