anyone replace the hinge for m11x ?
so I browsed the Dell website to find the dell contact support. entered the service tag, and it says the warranty is expired., fine. but then, how to contact them thru e-mail ? it only mentioned method to extend the warranty.. my hinge is getting wobbly and cracking sound is getting too obvious. If I were to able to contact them thru e-mail, they would come to my home and replace the hinge 'on-the-spot' ? |

m11x hinge replacement :
I just called the customer support and I informed her that my warranty is expired. then she says to fix the 'hinge' problem, I have to extend the warranty or pay for the fixing cost. seriously? didnt Dell admit that it was production fault and promise to fix it regardless of warranty? how do you guys (owners of m11x) replace the hinge? EDIT: oh yeah, I have to call them before 6 pm since they wont get me through the technical team at this hour. lol wut? This post has been edited by four_add: Mar 23 2011, 06:25 PM |

QUOTE(wilsonjay @ Mar 23 2011, 09:39 PM) FUC K !called the technical team again, and they said that they can only do the hinge replacement ONLY with warranty or me having to pay the cost.. first I mentioned about the Dell program to replace the hinge regardless of warranty but they insists to check thru the Community(Dell forum) first. they didnt found it, but of course theres only 5 threads in it thats about m11x and none of them mentioned about it (WTF?!) that means Dell will charge you if the warranty is expired. and before replacing the hinge, you have to send a picture of the cracking/broken hinge to them for confirmation of the broken part. Found this too.. This post has been edited by four_add: Mar 24 2011, 05:05 PM |

QUOTE(jsc_tidus @ Mar 24 2011, 06:47 PM) bout that sending pictures to comform ur hinge is almost TERBURAI, yes, i did that when i replaced mine few weeks ago. it is requested by the online technician. wth.. I couldnt wait till that to happen, should I ripped it now ? QUOTE(Mr.Docter @ Mar 24 2011, 06:50 PM) the technician said that it will replace the whole LCD to0.. so I think it would cost a bomb without the warranty.I guess Im gonna have to wait till Dell Malaysia launches the somewhat 'hinge replacement program'.. from the link from my previous post, it suppose to be worldwide.. Till then I have to be really gentle with the hinge . . . |
