Might have issue with Nvidia Optimus/Hybrid Graphics I think.. hmm.gif

never tried aw before but based on my reading, it got something like alienfusion etc etc
or might be some kind of specific apps that only available on windows platform?

been searching fedoraforum but i only came across with users who use fedora with m11x r1
the current one is r2, isnt it? correct me if im wrong

You mean that alienfx stuff? To setup lights, powers and login.
Current will be R2. I use ubuntu netbook on my m11x for test drive. Sadly i came across wifi issues with it.

except the wifi issues, everything works correctly in ubuntu?

this fedora issue and ulv cpu thing is the only two things that's been bugging me

need to do further research before buying m11x i guess

hurm, been digging the fedora forums for the optimus solution for linux
from my reading the optimus is also not quite good in 64bit windows, is it true?

darn, i want aw but i also want fedora. i might as well do dual boot for some
light gaming

the main reason i wanna go for aw is of course the look of it. cant find any other laptop
which got a cool design like aw. if only nvidia got a better linux support

Sorry to say this. There is no such thing as M15x-R2 as it does not exist. What we do have are:

1. Pre-Dell Alienware: Area-51 m15x
2. Current Dell Alienware: All Powerful M15x

Notice the small m and capital M. Some people always mistaken All-Powerful M15x as M15x-R2, but the fact is that M15x has been released by Dell Alienware just once. Thus, there is no such thing as M15x-R2.

Hope this will clear any confusion here. smile.gif

NBR forum has somehow stated the lineup of the future Alienware laptops as follow: M11x-R3, M14x, M17x-R3 (single GPU), M18x (dual GPU). Take your pick.

the future release for those is when? this year?
