Found some info on the M11x R3 here: http://progma.ekatalog.biz/zbozi/dell-alie...aspx?p=z:218622
Specs seemed rather logical |

QUOTE(fJok3R @ Apr 2 2011, 08:45 AM) Hell yeah If it does uses Nvidia's GT555M; it seemed a little bit too weak (for Alienware's standards) This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Apr 2 2011, 10:58 AM |

Good point there, I'll always extend the warranty to at least 3 years
But I guess 5 years warranty would only be good for higher-end Alienware laptops? 5 years is a really long time, especially when it comes to technology |

That's demoralizing
I thought Dell's the best in warranty support And your M15x survived the accident with such minimal damage only (based on your photos) This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Apr 5 2011, 08:24 PM |

QUOTE(Unbreakable3131 @ Apr 5 2011, 07:46 PM) I think to find out how strong my laptop is through a car accident is rather... risky. I won't encourage anyone else testing their lappy this way XD LOL Anyway, I'm abit curious about the overheating issue... Does the stock GPU experienced overheating as well? I thought Alienware's cooling systems are top notch? |

Hope you guys don't mind asking a noob question...
But what does the "retouch" here means? Retouch in terms of appearance of the brochure or? |

QUOTE(lee_what2004 @ Apr 8 2011, 01:30 PM) I don't care liao, start lifting weights from today Bro, any idea what's the meaning of the: "Discrete 1.5GB 3.0GB" for the GT555M? Many say the GT555M n the M14x supports GDDR3 only instead of GDDR5 Added on April 8, 2011, 1:36 pm QUOTE(Lil Kiasu @ Apr 8 2011, 01:33 PM) I'm ascending soon -Kane (C&C 4:TT) This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Apr 8 2011, 01:36 PM Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(sweeann @ Apr 8 2011, 01:43 PM) sweeann reporting in ... Both the M11x and M14x ain't exactly light weight anyway, me still undecided which notebook to get ... the FHD is a must ... but I still prefer it with the latest i7 CPU and light weight ... Perhaps the new Dell XPS 14 replacement would suit your needs? Not many 14 inchers come with FHD Added on April 8, 2011, 1:47 pm QUOTE(lee_what2004 @ Apr 8 2011, 01:46 PM) wuwuwuwu, the "3.0" is for decoration only This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Apr 8 2011, 01:47 PM |

QUOTE(sweeann @ Apr 8 2011, 01:54 PM) 14 or 15 does not make much difference ... LOL, I beg to differ, 14 and 15 makes a whole world of difference I was eyeing on the Asus N53SN, but no FHD. then the Dell XPS 15 MLK ... weight with 9 cells 2.87kg, still bearable, but noticed the graphic card was okay only. Then the Alienware M15x ... but then the weight is > 3kg I think and not the latest CPUs ... by the way, I just noticed the M15x link is gone from Dell Malaysia website, or did I missed something? So maybe the M14x is more suitable for me? at least it is still below 3kg .... Considered a Sager? As mentioned, M14x or the upcoming Dell XPS14 replacement (GPU probably nothing special as well) Added on April 8, 2011, 2:20 pm QUOTE(Lil Kiasu @ Apr 8 2011, 01:56 PM) Nope.... anything beyond 512MB on a GPU is good edi... what matters now is just the clock speed on it~ I see, thanks for the explanation This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Apr 8 2011, 02:20 PM |
