Yeah most m15x users that are usimg gtx 260m n hd 5850 are experiencing very severe overheating issues.
And about the cooling system, don't get me wrong, it's good, but can be so much better as compared to asus. Also, dell has to seriously issue some new thermal paste to their engineer for servicing, the current one they use is a hardened piece of crap.

Throttling? Are you sure its caused by the temperature. Or is it your bios? Any bios before A08 will cause throttling issue to both gpu and cpu. My m15x came with A06 and I flashed bios to A09.

Lol a04.. you really need to update it man.. at least get it up to A08 if not alot of problems..

Well said, putochip123! If I am not mistaken, the Sandy Bridge processors are of mainstream type. Even if Intel releases the enthusiast version of Sandy Bridge processors, it will not significantly improve the gaming performance, since most games are GPU-dependent.

Sorry for my harsh comment about Dell being not honest about M17x-R3. I am just pointing out that we customers must be wise enough to discern facts and myths. Besides that, we should not entirely trust Dell's marketing words.

What do you mean by no demand for M18x? Don't we have enough rich kids in Malaysia who can use their daddy's money to buy M18x? By the way, I am just an average person and not rich.
Still, can we make special purchase for M18x from Dell Malaysia if we really want to? Buying M18x from other countries will make claiming warranty a more difficult task than it should be.

Now I normally fly Emirates or Singapore Airline ... so far they never checked the weight of my hand-carry, coz every time sure exceed one.

But once I was traveling to Hong Kong on a business trip, using MAS, they ask me to weight my hand-carry luggage ... and it was like 12kg ... they force me to juggle the stuff from my hand-carry and the check-in luggage ... what a mess at the airport there .... I ban MAS from that day onwards.

There is nothing wrong with me being jealous of them. If I had excess cash to spare, I would have been the first in the line to purchase M18x with maximum specification. Sigh, it is just a wishful thinking. 

Yeah, I am still *trying very hard* to NOT to exceed the hand-carry max weight limit ...  .... but some how fails every time, with my full gear camera bag itself is already >10kg, now if with 2 more notebooks ....

Mom is pissed at me not spending time outside the house those days. Imagine what will she think if I had purchase this and my cousin said it is for gaming haha! Additional 1k ringgit cause satisfy impressing a girl temporary my mom says. But that additional 1k could satisfy me till the next alienware revision I believe haha!!!!

Oh well how I wish my parents can splurge on my gaming need!
