QUOTE(syarz @ Jan 10 2011, 09:03 PM) is this where the titwangsa monorail station located? with the haunted unoccupied flats? Yes, nowadays it's called Jalan tun razak.very nostalgic mang Flat pekeliling technically set for demolition because they wanted to rebuild it using current specs. Previously Flat pekeliling only had 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, which is inadequate especially since typical household have 5 people (2 adults and 3 children) on average. That is why it's now unoccupied. because they relocated all the previous tenants. But for some reason the project stalled for years already. |

Those pics were taken by some serious quality lenses. I'm guessing Leica the least. Very contrasty and striking as if it made me feels like I'm back to the past as I'm looking at it. DSLR sucks. Old school film + High quality glass = The real deal!

QUOTE(Kampung2005 @ Jan 11 2011, 12:21 AM) Can't believe how much KL has lost due to modernisation. Just take the example of the PUDU JAIL.. I totally one of the msia citizen who disagreed of the demolished of PUDU JAIL.. if not of the selfishness of developer this tempat bersejarah is still proudly located at the centre of kl city. If not maybe future I still can have the opportunity to show my kids / grandchildren the history of PUDU JAIL. Must preserve the old, while keeping progress. It's not about the PUDU JAIL itself but the painting at the outside walls who make it unique & special. Can you believe it that the painter was a banduan at the jail & he has the talent of drawing the picture by using just only his fingers. This post has been edited by babybb: Jan 11 2011, 12:50 AM |

“Ia menggerunkan kerana itulah pengalaman pertama menyaksikan kebakaran begitu besar. |

one thing to remember, KL population in 1950's was approximately 208 000.
As of 2010, it was approximately 1 703 000. that's almost 7.5 times more. So cannot compare to last time where there aren't many buildings around. This post has been edited by toda_II: Jan 12 2011, 01:22 AM |

QUOTE(roommate @ Jan 13 2011, 04:17 PM) The original name of the road are much COOLer than the modified version Of course la, British occupation. I prefer the current name. Baru Malaysia. Why should we have Holland Read or Birch Street? They have that in EU already. So ini Malaysia must use JALAN AMPANG! Foch Avenue, Holland Road, Klyne Street.. are we in europe or what? |

You mean the LDP? Yeah prior to the opening of LDP ~1999, Damansaras Kepong link is just narrow & jammed up road. haha..
Prior to 1999 The LDP also causes havoc in Bdr Sunway, once a quiet neighbourhood suddenly cut-off both side due to the highway & there is no road linking Sunway to Puchong..the existing LDP that cut the township is just a Dead end road residential road..Boy...LDP really changed the whole area. Regret din take any of the dead end road prior to the construction of LDP. Wondering anyone can share the United Seafield plantation before 90's..Prior to that, Only Subang Jaya exist and USJ was a rubber/oil palm platation..Seafield, United Planntation estate...It will be interesting to have the 1st view of Seafield.
