no tweaks, try to reboot ur phone again.. i don't have this kinda prob.. took pics almost everyday.. =)

Flash to speedmod kernel, enable ext4 all and all tweaks. It should helps..

17hrs with those kind of usage .. consider ok wert, furthermore u r in a custom rom sure will drain more battery compared to official roms ...
about the wifi, i think u better update ur wifi to dxjpa modem, uses less battery compared to stock xxjpy ...

8hrs only? .. impossible ... i am sure something is draining ur battery, most probably background syncing such as FB, etc ... better check on those ..

its been tested .. both 256hz and 500hz plays no significant difference in battery drainage ... some report totally the same ...

as I can use 3g to browse internet.. 

Few basic things to do is, set lower brightness, normally display is the one took the most battery life

Use 2G instead of 3G, the difference between these two is huge! 2G is enough for you to synce emails, whatsapp and facebook. Only change to 3G if you wan to watch youtube or browser internet that requires faster network speed.

To change to 2G, go settings - > Wireless and Network -> Mobile Networks -> Network Mode -> Choose GSM only

Then go market download spare parts, use it to check battery history, if your phone Running is very high or 100%, must be some apps that preventing your phone to go to sleep.

And remember to calibrate your battery if you just flash a new firmware.

To do this, drain your battery till close to 1%, reboot into recovery, find an option to delete batterystat

Then charge till 100%, leave it at charger for another half an hour, then delete batterystat again.

One more way i found recently.

Go market download Battery Doctor,

When your battery life lower than 20%, open the app, then plug in the charger. Leave the app open all the time during charging

Do this once every few weeks.

very very strange issue u got there my friend,as for me my batt life can last for nearly 3 days with few calls and sms and also check for app update in market,FYI im on DXJPE with speedmod kernel and i recommend u to use ES task manager and place the widget on ur homescreen and always tap on it b4 u lock ur screen,as for me my min free ram is always 140++ mb when phone is idle and when i clear my task using ES task manager widget i surely get min 190++ mb free ram,just download it from market and u don't have to do any settings...trust me it really works and helps ur batt life

You could go to settings > about phone > status and scroll all the way to the bottom. It'll show you the up time, in which how long has the phone been used.

3 button combo working ? if yes .. then just reflash lar ... no big deal ....

oh no ....  i remember someone here got  a usb jig .. maybe u can seek help from him ...

or samsung services center ....

when you can't start your phone it is brick...

did u press the 3button combo long enough? ... take off battery, then put it back and make sure u press and hold on Volume Down + Home button and power button. Dont let go till screen starts up, some times it might take roughly up to 30secs of holding ... nite guys ...

A bricked SGS will just show this image no matter how many times u try to reboot it:



if your one of the lucky one's whose 3 button download mode/recovery mode works...u can get into recovery mode and do a factory reset...or download mode and reflash another firmware with odin. If the combo buttons don't work, then you either need to do the jig thingy or take it back to samsung. I took mine back to samsung and got it reflashed at no charge. (You will lose all data though). Apparently bricking the phone is quite common with people trying to update from Eclair to Froyo using Kies (according to the ppl there).

Another scenario is when the phone is able to boot into the SGS opening screen (showing the 'S'), but turns off after that. In this case you can try downloading adb from the net onto ur computer, plug in ur SGS, boot it up, navigate to the adb folder using command prompt and typing in 'adb reboot recovery'. This should force the phone into recovery mode where u can do a factory reset. I have not tried this, but I assume it should work

i think ur phone just turns into massage machine.still can c the boot anime rite?u probably can download any firmware from samfirmware and then flash it using by odin via recovery mode.or ur set is a locked set?
