In froyo 2.2.1 xxjpy, it seem smooth even running with rfs. is it recommended to use ext4? How about comparing their battery life? Ext4 seem draining battery?
*
You can try for few days with rfs. If you feel laggy, you can try apply ext4 if necessary. I dont feel any batt drainage on ext4

about the JPA wifi modem update .. its a fix by hardcore ...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=885903
both update modem files of DXJPA and XXJPY is inside so u can switch and have a test urself ..
i am using the jpa fix without any issues on my specs below ...

Some info, through my own experience and also reading from other threads and forums ... no sources coz i read it last time ...
Linux is an OS which is superb for developers, its free source and have a very good ram management. So as Android is based on Linux, android inherited the good ram management as well. If ur ram manager shows u r using alot of ram, just leave it to the OS to handle, it is recommended not to use any task killers. The OS will try to calculate the best fit of ram usage for u, all u have to do is clearly/completely close ur app if u have done using it to free up immediate ram, even if u dont do so, after some amount of time the OS will just kill it for u but of course the app gotta run in the background thus eating up battery before it is closed. There are some custom roms and kernels that optimizes this ram handling as well, so u can try it out and can be found at XDA forums.
Another thing is safe up ram is to ensure u dont have any background sync, disable them or set it to the longest time limit it has (unless u r really active or required), this could save up battery.
Save battery by using low brightness, since i got my phone the brightness setting is manually set to around 10%. I dont like the screen being too bright as it hurts my eyes (high astigmatism doh.gif), this of course is altered at different environment or usage. Some said switching to GSM from HSDPA/3G helps too.
Smoothness of phone, is it already confirm that the latest official firmware XXJPY is the fastest and silky smooth rom, thats for those who prefers to stay on official roms, take note u do not have chinese/malay as it is europe firmware. No worries though u can extract and manually install them easily. For custom roms, most of them are based on JPY base, different developers have their taste so u may wan to try them out one by one. What i did was each week different rom till i get satisfied with one of them. For those who wants to stay on asia firmware, there is one half-customized rom based on DXJPE in XDA, so u might wan to try that out too.
Hope this helps someone.  icon_rolleyes.gif

wonder if there is a better app than titanium? It backups well , but restoring is a ridiculously slow process (even on pro version). After a while I give up restoring from titanium as it is faster to install from scratch
*
i never used titanium yet
i prefer nand backup. everything including settings, homescreen widgets, login, etc are restored very well
much better than mybackup

Miren Browser is slow in loading, and it suka suka redirects to Baidu website.

You all better be careful. The Android virus was allegedly leaked from China apps.

Weird. I never experienced Baidu website divertion. Miren is the best browser for me. Very happy with it happy.gif
