QUOTE(lch78 @ Jan 11 2011, 01:21 PM) Frankly, I don't see much difference between Samsung Keyboard (pre-installed) and gingerbread keyboard... Samsung keyboard is still better; buttons are more finger friendly. Somehow, gingerbread keyboard drains my battery once I installed it (bugs).I like voice recognition on Gingerbread keyboard though. |

QUOTE(Bap3 @ Jan 11 2011, 09:20 PM) Does not work for DXJPE and DXJPY. Maybe the app is now updated; it wasn't ready when I needed it.Root does not affect recovery 2e or 3e. It's within the kernel itself. This post has been edited by mengsuan: Jan 11 2011, 10:22 PM |

QUOTE(lch78 @ Jan 14 2011, 09:33 PM) I can really hear significant improvement in sound quality after apply Voodoo app compare to previous state. I don't have an expensive headphone to play, galaxy s headphone is good enough for me. I'm not too much of an enthusiast in this matter anyhow. If you use the stock headphones, you would get better quality by reducing the gain. That galaxy tuner 3D sound is very nice as well. Not sure how to tune the equalizer btw. I bought Sennheiser HD555 and Koss KSC75 for the phone; now with the gain settings, I could get it high enough for Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 250 ohm perhaps. Because of Voodoo App, now I have new shopping list QUOTE(lch78 @ Jan 14 2011, 09:44 PM) dude, you want to increase brightness you go to settings>display>brightness. There is no brightness tweak in speedmod kernel. There is now. |

I came in to rant about SGS's lousy media tagging for FLAC. I understand that Android has no support for FLAC, but since Samsung took the word to advertise it as a FLAC player, I expect full functionality.
Although advertised for native FLAC support, the music player does not read ID3v2 tags for FLAC. No song title(filename will be used;dumb), no album artist, no track number, no genre. http://www.google.com.my/search?sourceid=c...y+s+flac+artist http://www.google.com.my/search?hl=en&safe...f&aqi=&aql=&oq= This post has been edited by mengsuan: Jan 21 2011, 02:09 AM |

Tried all sorts of tagging for flac; id3v1, id3v2, apev2. You can try, it doesnt't work with stock music player. Lol. From google search, no one has a true fix but extended media scanner or chamge music player.

QUOTE(gmhafiz @ Jan 21 2011, 02:29 AM) Unfortunately, I am away from my computer. so cannot get my flac files. will try tomorrow. I don't call them lying. It was just partial support. Irritating, definitely. looks like samsung lied about flac support. together with the reported 480p instead of 720p video recording! bad bad samsung QUOTE(winterkiddi @ Jan 21 2011, 02:33 AM) yea the original version music player was sux. im using power amp and it works greatly! This is why i love android phone -- open source ~~ I like the interface of stock player. Moreover poweramp has too many tone variables that makes me itchy to change the sound. When it comes to headphones auditioning, such EQ would mess up my mind and possibly colour the impression/review. |

It's in your messaging settings. You can set higher limit or turn off the auto deleting function.

QUOTE(JustForFun @ Jan 24 2011, 07:28 AM) Is it essential to charge your battery to 100% everytime you plug in your charger to charge your phone? I always charge for a short while; I did that even on the first charge for the phone. Li-on have no problem with partial charging.Sometimes you don't have enough time to charge it fully when you're in a hurry.. so is it safe to just charge like 30-40% then unplug it? ------------------------- 2 Days ago I ranted about poor FLAC functionality on SGS and I sort of assume I resolved by using Extended Media Scanner. I gave up, some tags still wouldn't read. I finally decided to migrate to poweramp player. |
