Speedmod K10L is at test3 version now, quite stable so far. Latest firmware as far as I am concerned is Android 2.2.1 XXJPY firmware (Europe).

You probably have to use ODIN to flash back to stock firmware, which will wipe and factory reset everything. Not 100% sure because it's been months since I used OCLF and I have never used Kies before.

Eh? K10L? Oredi ancient lo. U mean k12L. biggrin.gif

Where did you get the dxjpb? depending on the content of the file, you require odin or CWM. It is not interchangeable unless you modify it a bit.
*
I just extract it from dxjpe stock rom. Can I use odin to flash? Where shld I put in?
Its in the .tar format. I extract fr dxjpe stock n got the code, modem n csc files altogether.

Alright, do you have 2e recovery and the modem.bin file? You can find out about recovery version by going to recovery mode. (Shutdown, press volume down+home button + power button)

edit: IC. You downloaded that from samfirmware.com is it? Then, just use odin to flash the modem part. If you go back several pages, there's a fellow forumer who taught how do do this.
*
Yes, I dl fr samfirmware. I m not sure where to put the dxjpb modem file in odin. Shld it be put in phone n leave all the rest blank? Tht means pda n csc blank n no partition unchcked? Or shld it go in pda n leave others blank?

I haven't done this before because I always felt that using CWM route is safer. However:

Put it in phone part. others blank. no repartion. Have you backed up all you apps and files?
*
No, I hvnt backed up all apps n files. It ll affect them? Will do more research b4 I try. I heard dxjpb modem doesnt suck battery as much as xxjpy. So I want to try.

I'm using darkys 8.0 and speedmod k12p 500hz, but my gps is still problematic, takes about 2 minutes to lock. Which modem should I use to fix this problem?
*
I cant believe wht happen to my gps today. I m on darkys 8.0 n speedmod. I flash to k12p 500hz today n my gps can lock in 2 seconds! Normally it takes 2 mins. Tested it 5 times over different times n same results. Rebooted n start from fresh, same result too. Not sure it will give same performance 2mrw. biggrin.gif If it does, I m not going to switch rom or kernel for a long time. biggrin.gif

Nope.... ive tested GPS just now on the road...
I now officialy gave up one SGS GPS .....
I tested it from Sunway all the way up to KL ... from Jalan tun razak to KLCC to SG wang ....
It never get a LOCK at all ....
I dont get it .... at my room ... it can lock in less than 30 sec..... but just now ive tested it is totaly unusable...
Thats the thing i wanted to ask u ICH78 ...  Since you say u got no GPS problem ...
Have you realy tested it ON THE ROAD??? KL area etc.....

Of course if based on my test @ my room ... the GPS looks like it doesnt have any problem at all.... but on the road....  doh.gif
Since we uses the same firmware + same kernal and everything .... my guess is you never tried it beyond ur comfort area ... whistling.gif
*
I use my gps twice a day. It never fails to lock in between 1 to 3 mins. Today, I flash to k12p/500hz. It locks in in 2s. B4 I could even key in my destination from my list, I could hear the lady's voice announced "voice navigation starts...." biggrin.gif

I mostly use GPS on the road. Jln Tun Razak is my most use road in fact, every weekdays I need to commute there.

Are you using Papago!X5? There is a problem with Papago, sometimes it cannot initiate the GPS on SGS. When u minimize papago, you'll notice that the GPS icon on the notification bar is not there. Not sure why, maybe the app itself. That is why you'll see the satellite in papago blinking all the time.

If I use Waze or Aura or googlemap, the GPS initiates instantly.
*
I use papago x5 as well. Typically, it takes 1 to 3 mins to get a lock in from cold start. After tht it takes a couple of seconds to lock in.

No... i use GPS Status to try to get a lock ....
It cant lock at all .....  shocking.gif
i dont understand why it able to lock at my room no problem ... in less than 30 sec with accuracy 10-15meter......
But just now... drive whole way through ... cant lock ... not even once.... and ive even tried Reboot over and over...
*
My experience wth lock in indoor indicates that it doesnt make it lock in faster outdoor. I experienced this whn I was using the different speedmod versions. Some speedmid versions can make it lock indoor but whn it comes to outdoor, it doesnt make it lock in any faster.

Are you trying to lock GPS while on the move or static? GPS locking is poor when you are moving at speed. Have you tried to lock it during static before you drive?

Your results here also gel with me. It locks in faster whn stationary than moving.  thumbup.gif

Your results correspond with mine.  thumbup.gif

SOmeone told me A-GPS is the "Use Wireless Network" setting...
But now it seems like a diff case.... now it seems like Normal GPS also uses Data....
Next week have to do a test on my usual spot without any data ....
With the Old firmware... i can get lock @ my usual spot without data (and thats about it... dont know why that area can get lock easily one).... The Darky Rom seem to be able to lock fast if theres DATA but doesnt seem to lock at all without DATA>....  hmm.gif
*
Not true la. I m on darkys n without data. My gps can lock 1 to 3mins from cold start. It can lock in <5s when hot. ;-)

Not sure about batt drain, so far Darky's ROMs have been better than stock for me. 9.0.2 feels slightly quicker than 8.1.

hey guys....
What is your GPS accuracy???
Is there anyway to improve GPS accuracy??
*
My accuracy is 5 or 10m most of the time. However, yesterday whn I installed fasterfix n chose asia or custom, it went haywire. It lagged n frequently went offtrack. Had to disable it.

Nope. I didn't wipe because I was coming from Darky 8.1. Market app is there and works just fine.

Anyway, it's no trouble to download vending apk and installing it if market is indeed missing..
*
Ok, thanks. I m on darkys v8.0. I just hv to key in all the things I want in darkys configurator n put the v9.0.2 in the internal sd n use cwm to instal as normal, right? Anything I miss?

Yes to your first question. For second question, nothing much you missed, but I think you will need to enable the speedmod kernel tweaks again after Darky 9.0.2 installation (assuming you chose Speedmod in the configurator app). That's what worked for me.

Bought mine in july. Mine can usually lock in in abt 2mins. Accuracy is 5m usually. However, whn I tried fasterfix, it screwd up the accuracy n becomes laggy. Just flashed over to darkys v9.0.2 n tested the gps indoor. It locked in 2sec wth 7 sats. smile.gif got to try it outdoor 2mrw for the real test. ;-)

Just flashed over to darky s v9.0.2. Wow! Im impressed so far. Its very snappy indeed. Respond almost instantly to the touch. Will need to explore more. Gps indoor is very impressive, too. Locks in 6~8sats in 5s. I'm very happy wth the performance so far. Tweaks n lagfix not enabled too.
