Add something,
Low is the bass section that's correct, Mid is the meat of of the whole music, instrumentation, vocals are coming out from here. High is the treble of music, the details of it. |

QUOTE(tunertoobe @ Feb 20 2011, 09:11 PM) Any RE0 users around here? Even with that little inperfection on the music presentation but it will still sound better than most of all common players that you can see on market. How does it sound. I kinda miss the sound of strong treble after a while with a DDM and PL50. Considering the price that Jaben is offering, thinking of getting it later, rather than a headphone. Oh, and how does it pair with the HM601? I'm thinking the strong high-end might compensate for the roll off that everyone is talking about associated with Hifiman DAPs. |

I would like to add something. I think since it is made from the same company hifiman. They are expected to made to match perfectly. They will also tune based on the players spec.

QUOTE(lanatir @ Mar 2 2011, 09:37 AM) Ok here are some quick impressions with the Westone 4 after a night of listening to it. Take note I am not a detail and flat response freak. I like my music to be warm and coloured (hence IEMs such as the e-Q7 does not suit me - tried it, didn't like it). I have been using Hippo VBs (middle plate) for the past month and was definitely impressed by the robustness of the bass on the Hippos. However, it did not tackle the higher frequencies as much as I would like. Instruments would get muddled and vocals felt a bit further in the background. Nice nice review... Maybe in later time he could post the full review on the headjam.orgUsed the following for my impressions DAP - Hifiman HM-601 Music - Andrea Bocelli, Alessandro Safina, KPOP, 80s music, Cai Qin, Rihanna, Sting What I liked about the Westone 4 - good soundstage but needs a higher volume level to bring it out - imaging and instrument separation - almost no trouble with the trebles and not too bright - smooth and balanced vocals In comparison, I also tried out the Shure 535 for about 10 minutes at Jaben. I did find the 535 to be more aggressive upfront. Initially I actually liked the 535 more but after a few minutes, I did find the Westone to be less taxing to the ears. The 535 had a hint more trouble at separating the instruments and the higher frequencies were a bit too bright for my liking. The soundstage and imaging of the 535 was a bit inferior to the Westones imho. On the other hand, I did like the fit and the build quality of the 535 more. Fyi, I did not burn in the Westone 4 and though balanced armature IEMs should not need it, wondering if it will change for the better in time. QUOTE(seankks @ Mar 2 2011, 06:24 PM) Hi, i have some question to ask. Does jaben sell the silicone ear guide that audeo pfe have? And does it fit the cable of triplefi? because i dowan the cable to break very fast and to get a replacement. yes we do have. QUOTE(tunertoobe @ Mar 4 2011, 01:08 AM) Only have my 'friend's' PL50 with me ATM(I sold it to him but I still have it with me Ooo... LoL. That's funny With the PL50, bass was actually a bit punchier than I expected, and that came without having to crank up the volume or any EQing(which I used to do to get a decent impact out of these). bass was tight, controlled and realistic. Electric guitars sound full, vocals are sweet. Also I can now hear subtle details that was once very hard to hear, like the singer's voice that echoes, backup singers that used to be overshadowed by instruments. It does separate all those sounds and place them really well, which makes detailing a bit easier. They say it has a rolled off high end, and I tend to agree, but not to the point of annoyance or losing in resolution. Overall it was warm and pleasant, definitely no regrets. And I'm not saying this to make myself feel better about it because of the price I paid for it. It really does sound wonderful. And that's it. I got sick of critical listening in just a short while and started enjoying it. Oh, I used it till it ran out of juice to make any sound, but screen was still able to be turned on. That produces a deafening shriek. It wasn't a sudden loudness, it progresses from soft to loud. Freaked me out a bit, kinda like a banshee approaching near my face. |
