although I've posted this on recommend headphone/earphone section, just wanna know you guy's opinion.. smile.gif

- Rig: iPod/iPhone, laptop, sound recorder, no amp.
- Usage: monitoring & recording, casual listening
- Format: from MP3 to WAV/AIFF
- Genre: soundtrack/classical, vocal, techno etc.
- Type: IEM
- Requirement:

looking for an IEM which works well for both monitoring and casual listening.
since will likely use it on the go so decided IEM over headphone.
would prefer good noise isolation (passive).
prefer balanced frequency response, not biased towards bass or mid-high.

currently considering:
Shure SE series, Westone UM 1, Audio Technica CK90Pro.

would like to hear a few more suggestions if possible, thanks.  cool.gif
*
Hi...
UM1 still quite a solid choice,
but you can also try Denon C560R
U are saying CKM90? That one is quite good for classical too.
Shure u have to go until SE315.

Hey guys, thinking of getting a pair of portable headphones. My preferred sound sig is bright with excellent clarity and speed. It doesn't have to possess A LOT of bass but I do want some thump. I am not fond of an overly warm sound and I don't mind having a 'lean' sound. I love the Fischer Audio DBA-02, and I also loved how the TF.10 sounded when I auditioned it (but it is priced out of my budget and there are fit issues/the size is too clunky). A bigger soundstage than the DBA-02 would be nice too.

I do not have an amp nor will I be getting one anytime soon. I will be running the headphones straight from my iPhone 4. My budget is around RM 400 or less.

Any recommendations for me? Thanks!

EDIT: My DBA-02's hardened cable has cracked and the sound is dead so I have to send it back for warranty, and that may take more than a month... need a replacement lol. That's why I'm looking a some portable headphones.

Portable headphones lah... not in-ears. tongue.gif

Prefer something below RM 400, but I won't disqualify something that exceeds that by a bit...

i suggest using SRH440, RM3xx near RM400, rich bass, decent mid, excellent vocal, kinda mild on treble and pitch, only drawback that i see is the tight fitting of the pads, replacement with SRH840 pads will make it perfect

since i'm no longer using my 440, maybe i can cut u a fast deal brows.gif

Let me think about it. Still thinking if I should get a the Grado SR60i or Alessandro MS1, or one of the Audio Technicas.

my Denon D1001's 3.5mm jack is kinda screwed up. Wonder if Jaben can fix it for a price? I bought the unit from another source.

Thanks
