RYAN GIGGS will make his 600th league appearance for Manchester United on Sunday - with a wish of plenty more games to come.

The veteran Welshman wants to play on for another season and would also be happy to help out his national side with off the field advice.

Giggs, 37, who hit United's match-winning penalty in last Sunday's FA Cup clash with Liverpool, will see the current one-year extension to his contract run out at the end of this season.

But he will sit down with manager Alex Ferguson and chief executive David Gill in the summer to discuss another.

Giggs, whose total United match tally will hit a record 856 at Tottenham, said: "I'm always looking to get picked, enjoy it and be fit.

"And, at the moment, all those things are happening so I'll carry on playing. I'm enjoying it more than ever."

Giggs retired from internationals in 2007 but is ready to help out new Wales boss Gary Speed.

He added: "I played with Gary, he was a great player and I'm sure he'll do a great job for Wales. In future, if he ever needed any help that would be no problem. I wish him all the best and hope he can get Wales winning."

Giggs certainly does not rule out adding to his record medal haul this season, with United leading the Premier League title race.

He said: "We probably haven't been at our best every game but, hopefully, we can get better."

Wayne Rooney's 20-year-old brother John, who used to play for Macclesfield, has been picked by Thierry Henry's New York Red Bulls team in the second round of the Major League Soccer 'super draft'.
