If a team mate goes down I normally kick them+if they react I know it can't be that serious,just my way of knowing if we need a sub or not!

Well, that time we already had Barthez. We spent 8m on him and he was very good in his first season. Next season VDS join Fulham. So kinda hard for us to make any kind of moves with Barthez already with us.

EDWIN VAN DER SAR has announced he will retire at the end of the season, saying: Suddenly I knew it was time to go.
Manchester United's veteran keeper — the oldest player in the Premier League at 40 — will hang up his gloves after a glittering 21-year career.

And he admitted he was torn about whether or not to play on for another year before making his decision.

Van der Sar said: "One minute you're out, the next you question yourself again. I thought about stopping maybe a year ago.

"It is a difficult process. After a defeat, I thought differently than when I had a few good games in a row.

"But my age played no role. I am 40 years old but I still feel fit.

"And yet the decision then came suddenly. Do not ask me how or why, but suddenly you know. That was sufficient.

"The time has come to give greater attention to my family.

"Although they have never complained, everyone in the family has always had to focus on me but all together we have also had a lot in return."

Dutch star van der Sar started his career with Ajax where he won the Champions League in 1995.

He went on to Juventus before beginning his career in England with Fulham 10 years ago.

Van der Sar forged a reputation as one of the most reliable keepers in the country and earned a move to United in 2005.

But despite his age, he still showed he could cut it at the top and has been the Old Trafford No1 for five years.

In 2008, he won his second Champions League crown as United beat Chelsea in Moscow.

And he is hoping to land his fourth Premier League title this season before ending his highly-successful career.

Van der Sar added: "That would be a wonderful reward."

if the torres deal goes through , his first competitive match will be against liverpool and if he scores the winning goal ...........
