Not every youngsters makes it. And while we can scout 24/7 on players till our eyes bleeds, nobody can be sure who would make it at the top, and who won't. So the best bet, is identify a player we think is gonna make it, try to sign the guy, and then just hope for the best. If they're good, they will get games as Evans, Rafael, Smalling, Fletcher, CR have shown in recent times. If they are patient enough to wait for them that is. Pique and Rossi chose to leave and they've done really well for themselves. And who's to say Bale won't get games with us had we gotten him back then? One thing we know about SAF is that he will give youngsters a chance. Even Richardson got plenty, and Bale would have gotten games had he sign for us since he can play both at LB and LW. A shame he didn't, but he's not the only good/great players we've missed out on and won't be the last. As SAF said, once you think someone 'good' you can get comes up, you just try to get them when the time comes. It's a lottery. If you don't try it, you won't get those future stars.
