The cream will always rise to the top. If they can't, that means someone better is ahead of them at that time in the side(Pique vs Rio/Vida + Evans), Rossi(Rooney, Saha, Tevez at that time?). And it's not such a bad thing to sign the top youngsters we can get. We can't predict the future. Signing talented British/Irish youngsters/players is always welcomed, especially if they are English. The more the merrier. Arsenal is stocking them up one by one.. Ramsey, Gibbs, Wilshere, Walcott.. thank we got Smalling. Would love to see us sign another one or two, especially an attacking one. And then there's Henderson as well who Steve Bruce said SAF is keeping an eye on.
like u said. if the club knows that someone better is ahead of that youngster, why bother bringing 'em over at the 1st place when they're young? their progress will onli be dented by lack of 1st team action. all these kinda of stocking young players without playing 'em sometimes really irritates me, even i'm a fan of mu. buy when they're young, sell when not performing/not upto club's standard. wtf mang? seriously. see manucho + Dong + david bellion for starters. i'm seriously casting my doubts over those coaches/scouts that prompted saf/gill in getting 'em in at the 1st place. mark my words, the diouf fler currently on loan at rovers will be gone, just the matter of time. i just dun see him playing for us in the near future.Signing talented British/Irish youngsters/players is always welcomed, especially if they are English. now dun gimme crap about some players are meant for backup/rotation and not 1st team materials. that's utter bollox.
just look at those clubs that frank arnesan (spell?) been to. how many of those youngsters that he brought in actually plying their trade in those teams?? i'd say none.
