I considering to build a custom water cooler (external) for my fat ps3. coz lots reported getting the ylod disease due to overheat.

so guys, need ur opinion, suggestion, expertise..i still doing my research rite now (still noob) bout this WC system.

the major prob i see rite now is finding a suitable water block and bracket, the rest i think no problem.

the mobo is look like this. 2 diagonal hole for de screw to hold the heatsink. but i don't know the dimension and size, anyone?? notworthy.gif

and yes i know to build such thing would cost me a lot (may think i crazy) and better buy a new slim PS3.

you will need a made-for-PS3 waterblock... and I think it is quite hard to get in Malaysia

yup. i guess so. sweat.gif

but if can get waterblock dat would cover the cpu/gpu surface should be ok. the bracket i think can fabricate or mod myself hmm.gif

Cool, I like DIY ppl.
B4 that i just wanna ask, PS3 got temperature viewer?
Or u gotta install the thermometer urself?
*
user cannot view the temp. i think. just by the system. so need to probe ur own thermomtr if want to view.

act, not started this project yet, still juz an idea. sweat.gif

i don't have any experience with liquid cooling system, but from my knowledge you may only need to custom build the bracket that will hold the waterblock... my question, cheapo waterblock will do any good than the ps3 stock heatsink?

i would love to build one but it seems like the cost to build it might even reach the price of a new ps3.. waterblock x2(as you need to put it on the RSX&CELL proc RM2++/each, pump RM2++, tubing etc...

i'm not discouraging you, for sure the ps3 will look kick ass with those tubing smile.gif .. do tell me if you found cheap waterblock+pump wink.gif
*
definitely the cost won't be cheap. most of the time ppl build WC for their pc to look cooler not the temp. tongue.gif

for now no time to even start the project. just using my slim ps3, the fat just sit in the rack. haha
